Cheating/Bending Rules/Finding Advantage

  1. 1. What is your opinion if your team does it?

    • It's win at all costs in pro sport, and I think teams should seek to find any advantage they can, legally or not

    • I only encourage finding an advantage if it's fully legal

    • I do not want my team participating in any bending/breaking of rules, under any circumstance

"We play sports to win. It should be expected that players would blur the lines of fair play and push the limits to win, particularly at the professional level, where even the smallest advantage may make a huge difference. That’s called gamesmanship."

Do you want your team to look for advantages? We know how hard it is to be successful, we know how vital it is to win. How far do you want your team to go?

Examples;

Covert extra practice sessions

Witholding injury information

Spying

Flopping to win penalties

Pumping "crowd noise" into the stadium

Examples from other sports;

Faking injury to waste time (Soccer)

"Losing power" to the car and parking it on the track during a qualifying lap to end the session and secure pole position (Schumacher, Rosberg in F1)

Diving to win penalties and freekicks (Soccer)

The underarm serve (Michael Chang, Tennis)

Underarm bowl (Chappel, Cricket)

I’m somewhere between the first two. I don’t mind teams breaking minor rules and taking the fine or whatever.

Id also be very disappointed if my team wasn’t taking advantage of a loophole or grey area if they discovered it.

So you agree that it's true? See, I have added something after all.

Thanks for doing your part in making NFL General a dump.

Cant even go one page without someone making the thread about fans rather than he football discussion they’re trying to have.
