mse326
So how long before Wilder complains about the long count on that 2nd knockdown
Pats#1
Pleasantly surprised by Wilder in this fight…dude is an absolute warrior. I have no idea how he was still standing after certain shots. Fury is just another animal. Just like the first fight, I have no idea how he took a full on shot from Wilder and came back. What’s next for Fury? Winner of the Joshua v Usyk rematch? Edited October 10, 2021 by Pats#

DreamKid
Thought Wilder took a lot of unnecessary damage towards the end. That zombie state is where your brain is just eating damage. No shame in calling it a day against the superior fighter, but I understand he felt he had something to prove. Just hope it doesn't cost him too much long term. Don't have a ton of respect for modern heavyweights, but kudos to Fury for putting on a show an carving out a fine career.

Agreed, his corner should've thrown in the towel. I respect that he wanted to go out on his shield but he was taking so much damage and not fighting back.

But I think Fury would have beaten a shorter count. Wilder just might have had a few seconds to try and finish him before the end of the round. Hunter2_1
There can be no doubts who is the better fighter now. Some will probably try clinging on, but it’s futile. Fury is easily the best heavyweight and would mash AJ and Usyk too probably

Hunter2_1
To beat Fury you must kill him? taking shots from a Wilder who has put weight on. He’s been down and back up, what 5 times against supposedly the hardest hitter in the division? Iron chin

He was definitely taking a lot of damage, but there a couple times he hurt a fury even while being hurt himself and exhausted. Wilder had a chance of putting Fury down again all the way up to the KO

He didn't take a long time on the count but after 5 he had to go push Wilder away, or at least he felt he did, and that too a few counts. But when he came back he started back up at 6. I won't pretend to know what the mechanics there are supposed to be there and whether you start where you left or start where it would have been. But he didn't take a long time to start counting and he didn't take a long time between counts, so I think it should be pretty clear between whether he was right or wrong based on what he is supposed to do.
