But watching a game as a fan the traditional way cause it's easier to keep track of down and distances.

Is that the best reason though? Doesn't seem like a great one to me.

I prefer SkyCam and it's not close.. you glean so much more from trench play, safety play. Can the angle be improved slightly, especially on the perimeter? Yes. But I'd venture to say unless there is action directly to the perimeter right after the snap, you're not missing much at all. I'd rather have a clearer view on the routes developing in the intermediate/deep areas than within 5 yards of the LOS.

But even just looking at the Butler interception above; look at the OL/DL during the play. The traditional view mushes everything together and it's quite difficult to know with any detail how the DL is attacking the OL. Looks a bit like a scrum. It's sooo much clearer with SkyCam, the gaps, where defenders are lining up (due to the perspective shift).

I want to see a modified version of the broadcast angle. In the Pinstripe Bowl this year the camera was awesome. Really gave you the best of both worlds as you could see the secondary as well as everything happening at the los. Just zoom the camera out a bit so we can see more of whats going on off-ball. Check out what I'm talking about below.

Skip to 5:19 to see the best example of what I mean

Definitely an improvement to the traditional broadcast.

However, I think a lot of these angles have to do with stadium specifics (i.e. where are the cameras located in the stadium). I think it's Tampa Bay, who I can barely stand to watch on Fox because the angle is so low.

That's exactly what this was as it was being played at Yankee Stadium. It just opened my eyes and made me realize how much better it would be if they just zoomed out the camera a bit or just focused more on the secondary rather than the 10 yards of grass behind the RB.

skycam is awesome to watch interior running. its hard to get a sense of the holes from the traditional broadcast view, when you're wondering "how the hell did he get 7 yards there" and then the replay reveals a gaping hole

Yup, this and the intermediate/deep zones in the secondary are the two biggest areas that see improvement imo.

The angle that allows you to see everything the best: Skycam.

I don't know how anyone would argue against this. You can see the whole field and find out why your QB sucks. I can't tell if guys are even getting open when I watch in a broadcast setting. They have to show 3 seperate replays of the individual coverages before I'm able to see why my QB held onto the ball and got sacked. It's crazy to me that some people enjoy broadcast view, where you have to guess what's going on off screen.
