An anchor for the middle of the line, picked in the middle of the first, sounds to me like a little too much thirst. Draft projection will always be a riddle that hurts, so take draft rumors for what they are and only in spurts.

Speaking of centers. Just discovered this guy and if we don’t go center early in the draft with Ragnow, I really like this guy:

Casey Dunn, #50, Auburn:

So I saw Austin Golson listed at center and thought that’s where I was supposed to watch. Was thinking how much of a beast he was and how he played with some serious nastiness.

Only, Golson was apparently switched to play LT in 2017 as opposed to center due to injuries elsewhere. Enter Casey Dunn who was a two time FCS All American for the 5th ranked program in he nation. He transferred to Auburn as a senior and did very well against SEC competition both at Jax St and while with Auburn. Would love to draft him with one of our 6th round picks.

I wouldn’t be upset. I think Ragnow right there with Quenten Nelson in terms of interior ability. Nelson’s a little meaner and dominant, but if Nelson is a top 10 pick, I think center is a more important position than guard (personally- line calls/snapping/NT blockers) so taking an elite center wouldn’t bother me. I always thought Ragnow was the best center in the draft and that he was worthy of a first round pick, but I was hoping he would be available in the second simply due to the negligence of front offices.

That said, I think an elite center is second only to an elite LT in importance along the OL, but that’s just me.

Absolutely. Like I've said before, nobody ever knows what the Ravens are going to do in the draft. They don't leak anything. Take anything said about them with a grain of salt.

With that said... interesting rumor here. If someone was going to make something up, Ragnow probably wouldn't be the direction I'd go in. Just seems odd even though center is probably the biggest position of need right now.

If the Ravens actually take Frank tomorrow I'm not sure what to think. He's good, solid, and should be a starter for most of his rookie contract and hopefully kept beyond that. But is he good enough to warrant taking over everybody else that will be on the board? Eh. Maybe, it's a tough one to digest this late in the process. xD

As long as we don’t draft another OLB in the first 4 rounds Im cool... We just keep on drafting them can we st least see what we already have in bowser and Williams first... Judon and Suggs are this years starters obviously Marcus Davenport would be a disappointment imo

I would view it as them having PTSD over poor center play and after an uptick last year, them not being willing to go back. Honestly strategy at this point isn't in favor of them going WR. It's possible one doesn't go until the mid to late 20s and they just keep getting pushed down the board. TE is out of the question(we hope), so all that's left really is ILB, S, and C. Stanley isn't going anywhere, and we have our guard group fleshed out for the future and present, all that's left of pertinence is a center. Right tackles can be find in a variety of ways and easily for this franchise, but an elite center not so much. I'd understand the logic behind it and wouldn't be mad, but ultimately I think a top of the board safety or linebacker will prevent the thought from running course.

Suggs should be viewed as a luxury, his play at his age is an anomaly. From there Judon isn't the heir to the franchise EDGE contract and will leave for more money after next year. Bowser is a Sam and T Will is a pass rush specialist. To sum up, Judon will be gone, Bowser is the future, and Williams will be a bonus. There is absolutely room on this roster for a great to elite do it all EDGE prospect which Davenport is.

Or Lamar Jackson. I'm still feeling like he's in the mix, and it would be great. Mayock just mocked him to the Ravens too for what it's worth (not a whole lot)

Mayock is the 4th most accurate mock drafter among the beat writers and draftniks with reasonable notoriety fwiw http://www.thehuddlereport.com/mock.scores.shtml

Right, but his Ravens picks over the years have been spotty at best. Like everyone else's since nobody ever knows what they're going to do. And yes, I'll keep repeating that forever. xD

Decosta always has the drop on everyone else though, people are still trying to figure out how he had Bosa to the Chargers coded X--X.
