Slappy Mc
Breeland is a good, not great, CB. He does well in coverage in spurts, but he got abused this year. I have no problem with them letting him go to FA. He will get overpaid. He may perform, but like a FA CB we signed, won’t live up to the contract he signs. Breeland will be replaced with homegrown and developed talent - Fuller, Dunbar, Moreau and Holsey - not a free agent.

We already know that Dunbar & Fuller don’t “suck.” They’re both younger than Breeland and improve every year. Moreau has first round talent, the only reason he fell in the draft is the same reason Fuller did in the 2016 draft because of injury. Also, Holsey flashed in the preseason and probably would have been drafted higher if not for his Acl injuries in college too. If we keep Breeland we’ll be paying our starting corners over $20 million a year and as much as $25 million which is a bad allocation of your cap space especially when you’ve recently done a good job of drafting and developing other corners the last 3 years. We are going to have to take the educated risk - that we’ve planned well for - that any of these 3 younger corners can replace Breeland.
