It’s funny that people talk about moving Jackson to wide receiver, yet they don’t seem to be talking about Allen switching positions.

Why are people taking it as an insult? The fact that a college QB has the potential to become a better pro player at a different position is a compliment. Plenty of guys made great careers for themselves by switching positions. Others who didn't quickly found themselves out of the league.

You got me. Josh Allen is going to instill fear into opponents with his running ability. Michael Vick, who?

Is Case Keenum more than just a thrower? Is Teddy Bridgewater? Was a young Ben Roethlisberger?

You don't have to change your offense into a Cam Newton or Michael Vick offense in order for a QB to be more than a thrower.

Yes, they are just throwers, because that’s what they’re asked to do. That’s how they are expected to beat opponents.

You don’t see those teams designing runs for them, certainly not on a regular basis. You’re not going to see them beat teams relying on their running ability.

LOL

So he's not going to be Tom Brady from Day 1 with perfect everything.....

These types of narratives would've caused the Vikings to not draft someone like Danielle Hunter. Sometimes you have to draft someone because he has the physical tools to be special even if his technique isn't perfect right out of the gate.

You're making an argument for Jackson here not Allen.

Both need to retooling with their technique (most QB prospects do these days).  Allen more so than Jackson, however, and more importantly Jackson shows more innate, intuitive skills at the position than Allen.  His understanding of nuanced skills (subtle footwork in the pocket, eye manipulation, poise in the pocket, and spatial awareness of what's happening around him) tell us that he's an nfl QB.

He'll need to incubate for a little bit, but he has the  demonstrable qualities to be a QB

(And yes calling him a WR is an insult)

No but every single player you change the offense to fit around.

Nobody is saying Allen is just a thrower.

Jackson is getting getting less crap for throwing at a lower completion % because of his ability to be more mobile than say someone than Allen. He is getting talked about it plenty.

It's just that Allen is viewed as a top 10 guy right now, getting looked at as a 1st round pick even. Jackson is a 2nd round guy that might push up into the 1st.
