The tour definitely needed more mountain top finishes. The length was definitely too short if you wanna keep a 22km final TT I wouldn't mind having the second TT mid tour either Team or not and possibly a mountain TT.

Yeah, this years race had a lot of Meh stages and nowhere near enough Wow stages. Led to a great tour, though haha

Lots of interesting stuff. Who knows what will happen. Would love UAE to go all out and try and be a rival super team if you will to sky.

They have the cash, apparently. It will be hard to match Sky over on offsesason, though. Sky was built over a few season.

Very true but if they added Aru and Martin to go along with Mentjas it would be a great start.

Yeah, that woukd be a powerhouse team. Aru and Martin are legit GC threats and Meintjes is one of the top young guys.

I don't buy that rumour of Quintana to Sky. No way he's happy to take a back seat to Froome. Only way I see that happening is next off season where his contract runs out. They may promise him leadership at Giro and Vuelta with a view to him being the TDF leader the following year.

Yeah me neither. Not a move I would see Sky pulling off.

I think Quintana is under contract until next offseason anyway. If Froome struggles or is looking like he's on a downward slope, they may make a move. I think they'd be more inclined to go for Bardet or Barguil, though. Sky could definitely do with some good will in France haha.

I think with the ethos of Sky to promote British talent I have a hard time thinking they would sign a leading non-British talent when there is an absolute dearth of young British riders coming through.

True enough, but if they can't get either of the Yates brothers there's nobody else out there who could be a GC guy. Thomas is only a year younger than Froome and I'm not convinced he is a true GC leader.

Sky would prefer British, but I think winning trumps all if a British rider isn't available.

Interesting. Sounds like he'd like to go for some stage victories. For sure he isn't a GC contender and will likely have to support Sagan in any major event. More of a classics specialist IIRC.

The massive news there is Batguil leaving Sunweb. It's kind of a logical move if he wants to be a GC guy, though. Dumoulin is definitely the main man at Sunweb.

Didn't actually see that. Interesting. You think either of those have a shot next year?

I think the organisers need to remove a ITT and include more climbs TBH.
