Lol they aren't even going to trade a 38 year old who's begging for it.

Go back to your Madden franchise and do this.

Doesn’t mean it’s not the correct decision to make from a competitive standpoint.

Every GM in the NFL knows this.  Bottom line is it’s a business and winning 9-14 regular season games a year for 16 years with one or two Super Bowl windows is financially more rewarding than having four 6-10 win seasons over 16 years with four or five legitimate Super Bowl windows.

At least you're finally realizing this. Along with the job security that provides.

Wrong.

The Packers have learned their lesson after the second time.

Get a Super Bowl win on a rookie contract or before they are elite.
(Favre, Rodgers).

THEN TRADE THEM IMMEDIATELY FOR A MASSIVE HAUL OF DRAFT PICKS.

EVERY SINGLE YEAR THERE ARE 16 QUARTERBACKS GOOD ENOUGH TO WIN THE SUPER BOWL.

Allen, Newton, Roethlisberger, Jackson, Mayfield, Tannehill, Wentz, Watson, Carr, Mahomes, Prescott, Stafford, Wilson, Garropolo, Goff, Cousins, Brady, Ryan... All good enough to win a Super Bowl.

That also leaves off Tua, who might get there.  Burrows, who might get there.  Herbert, who is there.

There were 4 quarterbacks taken in the first round.  If half of them hit, that's 23/32 starting quarterbacks capable of winning a Super Bowl.

And I forgot to include Aaron Rodgers.

And I forgot Nick Foles.  He's already won one.

This myth that it's tough to find your QB anymore is false.  The only thing that's tough in the NFL anymore is getting the right cap hit for your QB.

Mahomes is literally the only QB in the league that I pay anywhere close to 12%.

You pay your QB what they are worth and you will not win a Super Bowl.

So we either extend Love constantly less than he's worth, we give him a 10% of the salary cap commitment or we trade him before his rookie contract runs out (at the very least before his third contract).

By "the Packers have learned", you mean the voices in your head right?

Dan Graziano -   Team wins, 2011-20 (including postseason):

New England 134
Seattle 114
Green Bay 112
Kansas City 107
New Orleans 106

The only standard against which the Packers can be judged a disappointment is the ridiculous, unattainable one the Patriots have set.

I’m actually shocked Seattle is ahead of us.

Tyler Dunne -    Those who know Jordan Love best...

"I liked him better than Tua and Herbert."

“You’ll see flashes of a young Aaron Rodgers.”

"He can throw the ball better than most people on the planet.”

“The things Patrick Mahomes is doing, he can do as well."

It’s just a rehash from an article Dunne wrote basically fawning over every move in last year’s draft. The quotes come from former coaches and teammates.  If you look into Love’s parents story, you’ll see a bit about what drives him.

So basically the teams that have won had

  • The greatest QB of all time (New England)
  • Arguably the most talented QBs of all time (Packers)
  • The player seen as the most likely to become THE superstar in the NFL (Kansas City)
  • Future Hall of Fame QBs (New Orleans and Seattle)

Can we knock this nonsense about you must penny pinch on QBs on the head. This pretty much proves that getting the superstar QB must the absolute priority if you want to win and you must do whatever you can and pay what it takes to get one.

Going back to 2021, the last 4 teams had

  • Rodgers
  • Mahones
  • Allen
  • Brady

So basically to make the Championship games you needed one of the three best QBs in the league or the greatest of all time.

Having a legitimate starter on a rookie contract is great for the cap but having a superstar QB is way more valuable. Now if you have a superstar QB on a rookie contract then .......

Not sure a 1 year sample is a strong point of evidence

2020 -- Mahomes, Rodgers, Garappolo, Tannehill

2019 -- Brady, Goff, Mahomes, Brees

2018 -- Brady, Foles, Keenan, Bortles

The question is do you want to win consistently or not. Because not having a Future HOF doesn’t mean not winning championship... given the title break down.

They seem to render the same rate of championships... at least when you don’t factor in New England.
