Lowry’s contract isn’t bad. It’s 2020 and he’s serviceable and young. 5.2 million is 2.5 % of the cap. In 2022 he’ll have 1.5 in guarantees and we’ll have a new CBA and reupped tv contracts (salary cap likely will be north of 250m).

It's bad if he plays like he did in 2019. Guy needs to rebound or I'd think about cutting my losses in 2021.

People need to leave Daniels alone. He was a 6 foot DT who played in a system that didn't fit his strengths. Because of that, he was a really good player for a few years and an above average player for a bunch of years. I respected him then, and still do now. And that does not negate the fact that his mouth usually exceeded his play on the field. Kenny Clark is a far superior player already...with more upside still there. And he doesn't talk tough even 1/4 of the amount that Daniels did. Tale of two different personalities. And maybe, just maybe that talk helped fire him (Daniels) up. It was fine. But it was a thing. Given that it's unlikely he is under contract for that 3rd year, this deal is probably something around 2 years, $13M in actual money earned. Leader
Andy Herman - People are fair to question Mike Pettine’s overall performance in 2019, but one area where he crushed it was against the division. In 6 games against the division GB allowed 84 points total, or 14 points per game. Chicago scored only 16 points. Minnesota scored only 26 points. //////////////////// Dominance starts at the Division level.

Leader
Andy Herman - Green Bay absolutely needed Adams, a former 3rd round pick, to step up big after the release of Mike Daniels. It just never happened. Adams' snap counts to end the season: Week 12: 6 Week 13: 6 Week 14: 5 Week 15: 12 Week 16: 1 Week 17: 1 Week 19: 13 Week 20:

He could, but from what I've seen it's as likely to be backward as forward. I keep coming to this thread hoping to find out who our new WR coach is...

MacReady
Why can’t he gameplan against non-division opponents though? And remember, his division quarterbacks are Stanford, Bloughs, Cousins and Trubisky. It shouldn’t have been a factor. I can't recall a single outrageous thing that Daniels said in his time here. Wasn't it basically always about needing to be high energy and physical? Kenny Clark is WAY more physically gifted than Daniels was. He's just way more talented. It sounds like you're saying that genuine stars should be the only ones allowed to talk to the media. SF’s players repeatedly knocked GBs face in on both sides of the ball. Pettine can’t control Lancaster et al getting their *** whooped. At a certain point, your guy has to beat theirs no matter how much game planning you do. Edited February 5, 2020 by Arthur Penske

It sounds like you're saying that genuine stars should be the only ones allowed to talk to the media. Daniels was always full of bravado. Maybe it was "energy" or "physical", but he sure talked a really tough game. And it was consistent. Look. I have no problem with Daniels. GB needed someone to be outspoken and that was him. My issue was that his play rarely matched his mouth. And to be fair, that may have been part of what made him a good player for a few years. Kind of self motivating. I think that is part of him and what made him successful as an undersized DL. And that bravado wasn't just while in GB... https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/nfl/lions/2019/08/28/new-detroit-lions-dt-mike-daniels-youll-see-how-motivated-am/2140193001/ Detroit — Rod Wood called it “Mike Daniels: Unplugged.” And while it may not quite qualify as bulletin board material, for a buttoned-up organization like the Lions, the new defensive tackle’s comments on Wednesday did qualify as brash. “You’ll see how motivated I am,” said Daniels after being a surprise cut by Green Bay, where he spent seven solid seasons, including a Pro Bowl appearance. Daniels said he was recruited after his release from the Packers by former teammate TJ Lang, who retired from the Lions this offseason. “One of the biggest things he told me is that you’re at a place where you fit in,” Daniels said. “We have a lot of alpha-type personalities. Not a lot of fake tough guys, but actual tough guys. You’ve got guys who aren’t afraid to confront one another when things go wrong…” Daniels stopped himself, gesturing to Patricia: “If I’m saying too much, just tell me to shut up.” Look, he was full of these little quips while in Green Bay. They take nothing away from his solid play while on the field, but it's just Mike being Mike.
