What Is an Acromioclavicular (AC) Joint Injury?

The acromioclavicular (AC) joint — along with ligaments — connects your collarbone and shoulder blade.

An injury to to the AC joint is a shoulder separation.

Types of AC joint injuries

The type of shoulder separation depends on how much you tear the AC joint or coracoclavicular (CC) ligaments that hold the joint in place.

Type I = the AC ligament is slightly torn, but there's no damage to the CC ligament is unharmed.

Type II = the AC ligament is completely torn, and there's little or no tear to the CC ligament.

Type III = both the AC and CC ligaments are completely torn. In this case, the collarbone separates from the end of the shoulder blade.

Three more types of AC joint injury are also possible, but rare. These involve tearing of the ligaments and surrounding muscle tissue.

Shoulder separation or AC joint injury causes

Shoulder separation often happens because of a hit to:

The tip of your shoulder.

The top part of your shoulder.

Your outstretched arm.

You may damage the AC joint or rotator cuff from a fall or tackle during a game.

Man, and people reaaaaaly dislike that Barry hiring. ( I wasn’t high on him either but liked the “system” MLF said he would Bring)

Yeah, I was one of those people. I think what's helped Barry at this stop for him is the fact that he inherited a better-than-average staff that had significant experience with the players and the organization; he wasn't starting from scratch. However, I did mention that Barry would be working with more talent across the entire unit than he had previously. Put those things together with street guys who haven't exactly been liabilities and...well...here we are.

At this point I am not sure how much I want to see OBJ in a GB uniform.  Taking your time in making a FA decision makes perfect sense in he off-season.  In the middle of the season, his ego is already getting in the way of what's best for whichever team signs him.  Lets say GB wins this weekend and ultimately signs OBJ.  Does that mean a loss to SEA would change his mind, and he would likely sign elsewhere?  Possibly even SEA based on their win over GB?  If the result of this weekends games is really a part of his decision making process, I don't think that's a player I want on the roster.

I'm thinking there must have been a fracture and/or something torn, maybe a labrum or rotator cuff injury, which is why they were exploring surgery. Just a guess.

Yes, that was my concern immediately when he met with specialists. It appeared early on it was a concerning injury.

They're probably good with it. They could possibly get a lot of help for a ring from what would essentially be a one year rental.

More like what does Malik Taylor think about this. We've got 7 WR's on the active roster right now and I hardly believe that it stays that way, especially if OBJ were to land here.

Last I heard. It was between us and the Saints with OBJ not entirely called to go home to N.O with their QB situation.  I think he's shocked at the lack of offers he's getting.  Dont know if he's looking for more than this year, if so, he's probably wondering about Rodgers future.

Doesn't mean some team won't up their offer, but from what I hear its NO or the Packers right now.

If I were a WR I would probably take the Packers with their HOF QB and the fact they have pretty much punched their ticket into the playoffs being in the NFC north. Who knows though...

Really don't know why he should be. He's got a past of behavior issues including what literally just went down in Cleveland, he hasn't been too productive or explosive as of recently, and IIRC he's nursing an injury right now.

Stop living in the past. Put it behind you. He's not been a disruption in his CLE years.  He was probably whispering to some folks that he'd like to be traded - when that didnt happen, Dad chimed in with his video.
