Leader
OBJ's choices: Make a run for a ring with a top NFC team. OR Make a run for a ring with a bottom dwelling NFC team - but - be able to chow on all the cajun food you'd want and hand out money at LSU games. NFLGURU
Clearly, something is holding him up from signing with GB, I think the longer he goes, the less likely it will be GB. I think if Green Bay was hell bent on getting him, they would have by now.

No team is "hell bent" on getting him because there isn't any incentive to offer him more than vet minimum because he's not worth the higher price range at which point he'd make more money. It certainly appears he's not going to get anything more than vet minimum and may very well like to see how week 9 shakes out.

Taking your time in making a FA decision makes perfect sense in he off-season. In the middle of the season, his ego is already getting in the way of what's best for whichever team signs him. Lets say GB wins this weekend and ultimately signs OBJ. Does that mean a loss to SEA would change his mind, and he would likely sign elsewhere? Possibly even SEA based on their win over GB? If the result of this weekends games is really a part of his decision making process, I don't think that's a player I want on the roster. Not at all. It’s smart business. What if Rodgers/Mahommes etc get hurt Sunday?
packfanfb
By now I've read about 30 conflicting articles regarding whether Beckham has off-set language, basically guaranteeing that he's going to get a vet minimum deal. If this is true, then the "money" part of this is basically a non-issue because no team, nor Beckham, would have any financial interest in getting a better deal that is simply going to impact the off-set language in his contract. I.e. if the Packers offer $500k but the Saints offer $1m, it's irrelevant because it would only mean the new team is paying that money instead of the Browns. Thus, a team would have to give Beckham a contract upwards of $3-4m in order to top what I've read is his off-set amount. We can probably assume that's not happening.

It was between us and the Saints with OBJ not entirely called to go home to N.O with their QB situation. I think he's shocked at the lack of offers he's getting. Dont know if he's looking for more than this year, if so, he's probably wondering about Rodgers future. Doesn't mean some team won't up their offer, but from what I hear its NO or the Packers right now. He (OBJ) can have it both way....Coming to GB may only be a two and a half month commitment...Than he could sign with NO afterwards.... NFLGURU
OBJ got smacked in the face with a dose of reality. Fought his way out of Cleveland. He was probably thinking there would be some kind of bidding war for him. He has enough talent to scrape up a vet minimum contract. Thats gotta hurt. What incentive does he have to sign before Sunday if he's not going to play anyway?

I don't think teams aren't going to get worked up waiting a few extra days for someone who wasn't going to play this week. They've probbaly told him they are cool with it. I am not a big OBJ guy, but his group is making the right choice waiting to make a decision with the best information available after Sunday. I mean...the longer he waits to sign the fewer games he plays in. If he had signed right away, he maybe could have suited up. He probably cost himself a week already. GBPFan
If OBJ's money from Cleveland is guaranteed then he gets paid this week no matter what he does (or doesn't) do.
