CMIII is wondering if you forgot him? Also, Nick Perry was the quintessential one trick pony, a power rusher and we know how that pick turned out.

I'm guessing guys like Brian Burns are not your cup of tea?

I think you should always have 1 speed rusher on your team. Even if just a specialist.

CMIII was a really rocked up 255 (and still a bit light for my tastes), but only 5lb short of my threshold (and he may have played at around 260). You could see some limitations when the opposition ran right at him. You are right that I don't like Brian Burns types..........too much Mike Mamula for me. It's not that speed rushers cannot work, just that they are not only riskier picks (imo) but they generally fare less well when run at.

Perry was more than just a power rusher, just couldn't stay healthy when he still had the burst.  Dude turned the corner on a number of solid tackles though.

I'm into having 5 or 6 EDGE guys you can rotate and having at least one EDGE rusher who can beat tackles with speed is essential to me.

Yeah it's really good, but we've seen Garvin on the football field for 3 years now. He's not explosive. Combine becomes irrelevant if the player hasn't played up to his measurables in 700 snaps.

Garvin's problem isn't that he isn't explosive, although I'll agree he never really looks explosive on the field; it's that he just isn't a good football player.  Reaction time is measured in calendar years and has almost anti-instincts at times.  No one looks explosive when they're the last one moving and completely unsure of themselves.  700 snaps in though I feel like you either get it or you don't.

Very happy to see Hollins re-signed on the cheap.  Unlike Garvin he very much plays up to those measurements, due at least in part to being a much quicker and more instinctive player.  Awfully twitchy for 6'5", 250, plus he works the rush to the whistle and knows how to use his hands and I'm always a fan of having more of those guys.

36 inch vertical and 1005 broad is nutty at his size

You remember Vernon Gholston? #6 overall pick by the Jets back in the day? He's Garvin redux. Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane.
