MacReady
OMG people need to get over Tony Brown. We’re sitting on a bye week and Chandon Sullivan has been having a Sam Shields rookie year for us. Most Packer fans don’t even know Chandon Sullivan’s name because he’s never mentioned because he’s rated higher than any corner we’ve got. Well, second highest. Tramon is rated higher. Tony Brown wasn’t going to see any playing time. He is Jeff Janis of corners. He’s nobody and he’s gonna be nobody.

Chandon is fine, but his muscles aren't nearly as big as Tonys and his top flow isn't even wild. His twitter isn't bad but it's definitely no Tony Brown.

He's nowhere close to a Shields rookie year. Shields was a starting boundary corner by week 8. Sullivan is the 6th DB. From an on field perspective, it makes sense to keep Janis' and Browns until you have to pay them. Alternatively, everything we know about Tony Brown tells us that he likely wasn't the kind of guy that was going to take a demotion quietly. Can't have your 7th/8th DB being a problem.

Is that the reason? You'd mentioned earlier it was a locker room cut (or something similar...) - had he become a distraction in some way (?) or was it simply a depth move to make room for somebody? I've not heard any reasoning from the team as yet so wondering.
Fl0nkerton
think we can infer that based on tony's all around attitude that he didn't *love* riding the pine
{Family Ghost}
For all we know he might have asked for his release once he was healthy scratched.
deltarich87
I figured it was done because they'll be bringing Raven Greene back off IR shortly, but seeing that Bak liked the tweets announcing that Brown was being released, I'd say it's more likely he was causing issues in the locker room
