congrats to @CWood21 for winning the Draft Contest in the Draft Forum

nice work and a thrilling come-from-behind victory.

Unfortunately, being in the employ of PFF, @CWood21 will be unable to take possession of anything material gained from "contests, games of chance or just plain ole luck" associated with this website  :)

And yet the Packers and Rodgers have found a way to win.

The craziest part about this is it was to BIG DAWG Marcedes Lewis lol. Holy crap. But of course this is going to continue the bs trend that the packers never helped Aaron rodgers.

Ok but Jennings and Nelson were both high seconds coming from trading out of the first, Adams and Cobb 2nds, and Jones and Finley were 3rds. Offensive "skill positions" are worth investment, but moreso as position groups than individual players.

During Rodgers time in GB, there has been quite a bit of investment in the WR (and to a lesser extent TE and now H-Back) position.

But, as shown below, that investment is absolutely weighted to the early part of Rodgers career.

2005 Terrence Murphy.

2006 Jennings.

2007 James Jones (3rd).

2008 Nelson and Finley (3rd).

2011 Cobb 2011.

2012

2013

2014 Adams and Richard Rodgers (3rd).

2015 ***

2016

2017

2018

2019 Sternberger (3rd).

2020 Degaura (3rd).

*** Montgomery (3rd) played WR for 6 games before transitioning to WR.

Just got another high 2nd rounder too in Funchess, 41st overall.

What I hate about that is it equates draft number to talent.  The talent Rodgers has had over his career has been as good as or better than the talent Brady has had most years on average with the exception of Brady having Moss and Welker.

Obviously Brady had the better tight ends, but as far as receiver, the talent Rodgers has had had not been far from the talent Brady and Brees have had over their careers.

If you want to prop Rodgers up, use the fact that Brady has never had worse than the 17th scoring defense.  Rodgers has had above 17th... Three times?

And Peyton... Peyton was absolutely spoiled with talent.  Wayne, Harrison, Thomas, Clark, James, Faulk and those are just the ones off the top of my head.  What does it tell you that all those first round receivers and tight ends and running backs he’s had and the Colts won exactly one Super Bowl with the best QB ever?

TT should charge major consulting fees for 2nd round WR recs. The only “bust” is Murphy who looked promising before he got hurt.
