THE DUKE
Draft Orlando Brown, Quentin Nelson, or Billy Price, bring in another olineman as a free agent, get Ross healthy, and give Lazor the offseason. Give him a true shot, and don't be known as the place the whips through assistants.

Finally they get Redmond and Westerman in there and look, a running game and 2 wins....

That and moving Boling out to LT which is something they should have done sooner

About evaluating them better and finally figuring out what they do well.
ochocinco4pres
Also with Guenther leaving, Marvin will not commit to sticking to a 4-3 defense.
Beck Bristow
I hate 3-4 talk.
HangOnSloopy
I don't mind Marvin wanting to be multiple with the fronts, but our personnel is very pro 4-3/Even. Suppose Lawson would be a good OLB in the Odd front, but that's about it.
Beck Bristow
Yeah, I'm sure that we have a few others that work, but largely we have 4-3 personell. That's my issue, not the system itself.

THE DUKE
I suppose a Bengals 3-4 looks would look like this, albeit I expect us to remain a 4-3 team LDE: Geno Atkins, Ryan Glasgow NT: Andrew Billings, Josh Tupou RDE: Carlos Dunlap, Michael Johnson, DeShawn Williams LOLB: Jordan Willis, Chris Smith LILB: Vontaze Burfict, Nick Vigil, Hardy Nickerson RILB: Vincent Rey, Jordan Evans ROLB: Carl Lawson, Carl Bradford Dunlap doesn't really fit a 3-4, but he's talented, so I'd still have him on the field. The starters at LB are solid (albeit I'd want an upgrade over Rey), but the depth (especially at ILB) would need to be new (bigger, stronger, shed blockers better). Johnny Nix
it would be a huge mistake switching to a 3-4 defense, especially with the whole mindset being "how close we are to being a winning team again"

Johnny Nix
So really we are only going to see a new oline coach and possibly new d coordinator

They're not that far away. So while I'm a little disappointed Marvin is back and the only turnover is Alexander, I'm not surprised.
