They kindoff have to bring back solder. He’s not elite but he’s a good dependable top 12 LT in the league. I don’t see how you trust your 41 year old Qbs blindside to some unproven guy. That’s a disaster waiting to happen

Why would going to Denver have burned bridges?  The guy went there to get paid and win a Super Bowl.  Can't blame him for that.

Because Denver was our biggest rival at the time. Don't get me wrong, I'd be glad to have him back, but I wouldn't my breath.

I just remember they drafted a big tackle in the third round last year, right? Antonio Garcia. I think Scarrnechia will get away with 4/5 starters returning while training a guy they invested in on the job so to speak.

Just doesn’t seem like he kind of thing we would hold against him.  I think the more likely reason he’s not back is cost.

After what they hold against Malcolm Butler... man, Talib ain't coming back.

Things Bill Belichick cares about:

- Breaking team rules

- Not being focused on the game

- Not being prepared

- Running your mouth about a contract and letting it become a distraction

Things Bill Belichick does not care about:

- The fact that you played for a 'rival'

Just like how his hatred for Mangini started when Mangini went to the Jets?

It had nothing to do with him going to a rival.  It had everything to do with him trying to poach Bill's coaches on the plane ride back from a playoff loss.

Cutting Allen, Bennett, Branch, Gillislee and Britt would gives us 30m in cap space. If you added Ghost (1.5m hit, but owed 5m this year), McClellin (.8m hit, but owed 3.1m) and Davis Harris (0.6m hit, but owed 2.8m) that would give us a total of 34m in cap space to play with. That should be enough to bring Solder (12m per year?), Lewis (5m), Burkhead (3m do we need both?) and Amendola (3.5?) - plus a bunch of the special teams guys who are out of contract.

I don't think you need to bring Rex back or cut cut Shea McClellin right away either. Im looking at Amendola as a luxury at this point to come back since he signed that contract to model and might retire. Don't seem like he wants to retire now, but thats how the Pats must be prepared in worst case scenario with him.

Dion Lewis is a luxury to bring back too. Highly replacable. Solder would hurt the most, but for a couple more years it would be worth it probably.
