Is the Qb situation good enough?

Is the qb situation good enough this offseason free agency wise and draft wise to get a nice player?

Cousins is gonna command a boat load of money and imo hasn't proven the ability to win at a high level.

Bridgewater injury prone who knows, Bradford same way.

Alex Smith - can help you become competitive but superbowl team is an extreme long shot. Giving up a pick doesn't seem ideal either.

Draft- while Darnold and Rosen are young they are lesser prospects coming out than Trubisky and Watson. Rosen has injury issues, Darnold turnover issues.

Mayfield, Allen, Jackson, Rudolph - all seem in the same category. Every year the third guys on get hyped up besides 2015 because you don't have to give up a premium top 5 pick on them. But, some of these guys are gonna be more overdrafted in terms of talent than the top 2.

I'm not super confident in where we stand right now talk me off the ledge.

Rosen and Darnold are the only 2 QB's worthy of a first round pick, and they're both gonna be gone by number five. Not real excited about the projected FA market either, so yeah I think you are correct to be worried. As it stands, Chad Kelly is our best hope for next year and that worries me.

Haha okay so now talk us off the ledge. And don't give us the nonsensical he's the chosen one ala tebow or Lynch because we felt the qb succeeding Manning had to be good.

This FA crop is great if we are looking for a bridge QB. There are also some nice 'roll of the dice' options at a decent age, notably Teddy.

It doesn't matter though, Elway is not going to risk the 2018/19 season with a poor/mediocre QB again. He will get Cousins or trade up for Darnold/Rosen. I think there is a 75% chance one of those three is our QB next season. He knows that he cant afford a mediocre bridge QB, knows that a middling drafted QB wont be ready and knows that another losing season could seriously damage his legacy and get the fan base calling for him to be jettisoned.

100% agree with this. That is what I think Elway do as well. It's very exciting but super duper scary if it does not work.

I think Teddy, Tyrod, even Bradford to a certain extent would make a lot of sense as a bridge QB. I do not think that Cousins is the right option, although he is easily the best QB. Denver would be drastically handcuffing themselves by paying Cousins. Plus, having a good, young, franchise QB, would mean longer term better chances of success. Honestly, a halfway competent starter that can keep defenses honest would vault this team to likely being in the playoffs, if we're being honest. Taylor is my favorite option. He's safe with the ball, can get outside the pocket, we wanted him in the past. I think it would be a no-brainer personally.

This is pretty true..if Elway is looking for a bridge...he already has one; Osweiller said he would play for the Broncos for breakfast burritos.  Why not just let him be the bridge and long-term solution as the backup...this is the perfect solution in my mind.

I wouldn't have an issue with that. We're not going on a SB run for a while anyway.

Best case scenario is that Os balls out and we have to trade him for a high round draft pick?

What Os needs to realize is that he is Derek Anderson for the Panthers...top tier backup.

There is a better chance that Trump and Hillary make a porno together than there is that we go into 2018 with Brock as the starting QB.

I feel like there could have been better examples than that.

Don't put those images in our heads!!! lol

Well, we can plan on at least all the Vikings QB's being available. Bradford, Bridgewater and Keenum are all UFA's. They can only afford to keep one.

Have to think if Shurmur stays, he keeps Keenum. I think they'll let the other two test the open market.

I think you're right. One way or another they've got to commit to one of those guys.
