Very bad coordinator. I think he was a fine position coach though

I can think of worse coordinators we’ve recently employed. His defense was #2 in the league in turnovers his last full season and his defense was #32 the year before he took over and ended up #20 points against his last full year. Not saying he’s necessarily a great coordinator, but I think there are far worse out there (looking at you O’Neil). Regardless of his history as a D Coordinator, I like this hire, I really think he could do wonders for Reuben.

Run game specialist/OLB coach? Is he a run game specialist as in defending the run, or running the ball? Because that's an odd combo, if he's a defensive guy who also works on running the ball. Kinda like having Mangini as an offensive coach that one year.

Well, I am thoroughly confused with this thread since the original post is now blank... I would love to have Norton as a position coach. Is he now or not?

I'm not sure why it's gone but yeah he's assistant head coach/ middle line backer coach.

Assistant HC? What does that mean?  He just got fired and we're elevating him to assistant HC? Oh well.

I think it just gives him extra responsibilities. From what everyone saying he's a good positional coach just don't let him play call.

I hear the Assistant HC title gives him a better chair and a free coffee mug.

I’m thought Bobby Turner was rbs coach and asst head coach. I wonder how many asst head coaches you are allowed to have? Seems to me in years past making a positional coach along with the asst head coach was a way to block other teams from hiring them as coordinators.

I don't think you need that to block position coaches to coordinator moves. You can't block them from interviewing for head coaching jobs, nor can you block a coordinator from interviewing for a head coaching job, but you could always block position coaches interviewing for coordinators jobs. If anything, the assistant head coach title may just be an excuse to give them higher salaries than regular position coaches.
