I really like this move. Nagy is hiring guys with different concepts just like Reid has done, mix of WC, spread, RPOs, I think this fits really well with a Trubisky. Helfrich thrived in this same role with Oregon under Chip, OC that didn't call the plays.

Very interesting hire.  Obviously bombed as HC, but I have high hopes for his capabilities as a non-playcalling OC with the Bears.  Now we just need Fangio back.

College spread OC actually makes sense with a mobile QB and Cohen.   Getting more WR is the next priority along with developing Shaheen.

I kind of liked it when the Bears had a boring offense though. xD

Nah, I think they are making the right moves. I can see them making a big jump in a few years from now. Maybe less!

My only concern with this is how many hits is Mitch going to take?

Doesn't Helfrich run the same system as Chip Kelly? If it is get ready for the same 8 plays over and over and 0 LOS adjustments.

Hopefully Helcrich isn't as stubborn and an ego maniac like Chip Kelly. Chip Kelly sucks.

He's not going to calling plays. This is going to be Nagys offense regardless.

I'm sure he's going to help put in more spread schemes to help trubisky make it easier for him to successful.

Hes going to be handling offensive install, he'll be a voice in talent evaluation and he'll be the buffer between Trubisky and Nagy like Nagy (and Peterson before him) was with Reid.

Does this mean Bisky is going to run for about 500 yards next year?

I would guess around 5 or less times a game
