As much as the Bears sought a fresh voice and new approach for the offense and quarterback Mitch Trubisky, they were pretty happy with how the defense has come along.

They have to feel like they might have the best for both sides of the ball now after defensive coordinator Vic Fangio agreed to return Friday, four days after the Bears hired Matt Nagy as head coach.

He's the guy I wanted the Packers to hire at defensive coordinator.  He's the best coach on the Bears staff when it comes to them competing with the Packers.

Packers averaged 20 points / game in 2017

Packers with Rodgers in September.... 35-14 vs the Fangio's

Packers with Hundley in December 23-16 vs the Fangio's

In 2016 the Packers averaged 27 points per game, and put up 26 and 30 vs the Fangio's

Yeah, but that's mostly because the Bears offense is the one offense in the NFL that sucked against us.

Turnovers can really impact that though. The 35-14 game included a 3 play, 3 yard TD drive by Green Bay. Chicago's offense regularly set them up to fail.

Vic Fangio is a very talented NFL DC, I'm just busting some balls.... :)
