2017-Worst Movies

Ive seen 50 movies from 2017 right now, and plan on seeing about 10 more before award season, but I dont think my bottom 5 will change

  1. The Mummy
  2. Life
  3. Transformers:The Last Knight
  4. Baywatch
  5. Colossal

The Mummy was so bad that I forgot I watched it, and almost paid to see it again. Life is just an Alien rip off that has no redeeming qualities, even with Reynolds and Gyllenhaal in it. Transformers? Well its a Transformers movie. A couple of gorgeous women werent enough to make Baywatch interesting. Finally, Colossal had a great idea, and it had Anne Hathaway, Jason Sudeikis, and Dan Stevens in it, but it was just bad.

The Mummy is the worst movie I've seen in probably ten years.  It's the only movie from 2017 that I absolutely hated.

I had originally planned to catch this one in theaters but never got around to it.  What was so bad about it?

Belko Experiment. Almost wasn't worth the 5 bucks I spent on the ticket.

Every other movie mentioned here makes sense.  This one doesn't.  You spent five dollars to go see a movie about a bunch of people in a corporate office building being forced to kill each other.  You got exactly what you paid for.  There was nothing wrong with the movie based on everything it was meant to be.  You should have picked a different movie.

The Dark Tower was never going to be good. Trying to make a movie out of a 7 book series was a terrible idea. It should have been an HBO show.

The movie was barely 90 minutes too. Could it not have been at least two hours?

Rating Life above TLK, really? Granted, I haven't seen it and don't intend to (3 strikes, they're out; I actually kinda liked the first one), but every YouTube review I've seen says it's godawful and the worst one yet (and that's really saying a lot, too, considering how awful 2 and 4 were), which is reflected by RT and IMDb scores. A number of said reviewers said it was so bad, it looked like it was written by a group of 12-year-olds, which I don't doubt after reading spoilers. Life wasn't great by any means, but at no point did I get the impression that it was worse than RotF or AoE like virtually everyone's saying TLK is.

The Mummy I'll agree was awful in every facet. Hell, it killed the planned 'Dark' universe much like Alien: Resurrection killed the Alien franchise (if you don't count the prequels).

Life and Transformers are pretty much interchangeable. Both were just awful.

The Dark Universe isnt dead yet! Just yesterday it was announced that The Bride of Frankenstein was going into production this year. Bardim as Frankenstein. Bill Condon directing. Dont have a bride yet. Jolie was going to play the role, but she is busy now with Maleficent 2, and Gal Gadot was choice #2, but she has Wonder Woman 2.

Life was odd in that I enjoyed the movie for 20 minutes at a time in a couple spots and I actually liked the ending even if the misdirection was obvious. There were stretches where I didn't understand the plot or motivations of the characters at all, however, which really undermined the whole film.

The Mummy was the worst film I've seen in a long, long time.
