It is comical, your a Bears fan defending a guy who did NOTHING for you!! Bears fans are more abused than I thought if jay cutler was your glory days!

No one said glory days.  And he did something for us, he was our starting QB for 8 seasons without any complaints and is team record holder in many categories.  As G08 stated, he was 36-7 as a bears starter when the Bears defense held opposing teams in check.  Because we simply don't hate him for being average, and because we don't think that he was a locker room cancer, that doesn't mean we are obsessed with the guy.

His arm was not average.... so for him to be average, he was well below average at everything else. I’m done here, if you don’t believe me check what former teammates say. They all say the same thing besides Brandon Marshall and he even admits they don’t talk. Y’all are abused I’ll leave you alone!!

So Brandon Marshall, the one you called a headcase earlier in the thread is the benchmark for whether or not Jay is a headcase?  Give me another teammate who threw jay under the bus please.  And his arm was certainly above average, but his decision making wasn't great at times and just because he had a great arm doesn't mean he could make things happen when there was nothing for him to throw to, no blocking to take the pressure off him, and no defense to keep him in games.    Your logic is far too black and white.

No.... he doesn’t even have a relationship with Brandon Marshall his teammate in Denver and Chicago. He doesn’t have a personal relationship with his teammates. But AGAIN IM DONE!!

Clearly we’re on different pages agree to disagree

@stallyns, @tom cody, would very much like to hear what you dedicated Colts' fans think about the McDaniels' hiring- are you getting the failed Boy Genius/ Loose Cannon from his Denver days; OR, are you getting the new, mature, sadder-but-wiser brilliant offensive innovator?

Now that  I think of it, @Trentwannabe, that's a dangerous screen name to be wearing in and around these parts!

Stephen "Cup" Holder of The Indy Star inveighs against the hiring of Josh McDaniels, harking back to his notorious stint in Denver:

https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/columnists/gregg-doyel/2018/01/15/doyel-colts-expected-hire-josh-mcdaniels-why/1034425001/#/questions

(Trivia: the "Indy Star"changed its name so that people would no longer have to labor at spelling "Indianapolis", a concession to the gradual dumbing-down of America)

"And in less than two years he spray-painted so much graffiti on there that the Broncos fired him for a variety of reasons, so take your pick: his abrasive personality, his horrific judgment of talent, his team’s penchant for losing games, or those broken NFL rules."

Funny and interesting article on Josh McDaniels' Glory Days in Denver:

Step 1: Fire everybody

February 2009 - McDaniels tries to trade Cutler for Matt Cassel (Tom Brady's backup). The trade fails, and Cassel ends up in a Chiefs uniform while Cutler learns of the trade attempt through the news, which makes Jay feel a little betrayed.

Josh also fires GMs Jim Goodman (after saying he was looking forward to working together in his press conference) and Jeff Goodman, and promotes Brian Xanders from co-assistant to GM. Josh also fires the Broncos' 7-year veteran long-snapper, Mike Leach, who was a favorite among teammates. He signs the Patriots' Lonie Paxton, the 2nd highest paid long-snapper in the NFL.

March 2009 - Josh hires a bunch  more former Patriots and fires long-time Broncos players to make a total of 6. Jay Cutler and Josh McDaniels decide they couldn't work out their fight, so Cutler formally asked to be traded.

April 2009 - Cutler is traded to the Bears for Kyle Orton (51.6% completion percentage, 1,869 yards passing, 9 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions) and a 5th round draft pick, plus 1st and 3rdround draft picks in 2009, and a first round pick in 2010. Pat Bowlen feels the need to defend Josh to Broncos fans in a letter because they are so pissed off. Rick Reilly of ESPN proclaims that Broncos fans are screwed.

Eh . . . we were without Luck last season, and we managed to win four more games than the Browns. We certainly need a talent infusion, but the situation isn't as bad as some make it out to be. The secondary is quite promising, in fact.

I think that says more about the Browns coaching staff than anything else. Outside of QB and skill position players, the Colts may have the worst roster in the league.

Knowing what we now know about Jay Cutler, can you really blame him?

It was an unbelievably stupid decision. He tried to trade Cutler for Matt Cassel and he did it w/o telling Cutler anything about it. He wasn't in Denver for 2 months and he already had created trust issues with the star QB.

How is that possible? The Patriots would never have wanted Cutler. Was it a three-way trade?

Yes. IIRC there were discussions about him ending up with the Rams or the Titans. And the Buccaneers?
