Thats probably right on target.

I really dont care. I wont be putting any money down on it (not for any aversion to gambling....) and dont pay all too much attention to commercials.

I don't even notice commercials. IDK how I developed this "skill" but every week when I see everyone losing their minds like commercials are kicking them in the groin and stealing their souls, I'm glad I have it lol

I used to gamble a ton. But it lost it's appeal ages ago to me. Not that I might never consider throwing a few bucks around again I guess.

I'm guessing if the states start okaying the books there it'll be your local channel spots that are running it. Theoretically it should hurt daily fantasies market share and you'd see less of them and more just flat out casino commercials. IDK how much control the NFL has over local spots or if they even care. Once it's here it's here. They'll probably just start taking the money, it could be huge. Cash rules everything around me.

The sports book will just be at casinos, right?  Which states don't have casinos? I think this is mostly going to redistribute money that used to go to bookies.

Correct. I'm guessing more books only will open. The bookie around here is in a freaking strip mall right now and nobody cares. He'll just go legit, that kind of thing. But yeah they'll mostly be at casinos.. IDK how legal casinos are in all the states TBH.

I know Missouri and Illinois they are legal.  I think the work around is if they are "boats." The ones in the St. Louis area are all on rivers.  There are seven that I know of, I think only 2 of them pretend to be boats though...  I think the ones in Wisconsin were all owned by the Indian Reservations, I think Oklahoma is the same.  I think that Louisiana is just legal gaming.

I thought the Tulsa area had some real tough teams.  It seemed pretty big time when my family was looking to move in the early-mid 90s.  We almost moved to Tulsa.  I also got the same impression from OKC.  And with two power 5 teams I figured it was bigger.  I know they recruit Texas very hard, I just figured there were more native Oklahomans in the fold.

I mean, they put enough kids into college but in terms of numbers they're taking from high school into professional sports.  I think the earliest pick we've seen come out of Oklahoma is Sterling Shepard a few years ago.  I think you'd have to go back to 2006 the last time you felt that a top notch prospect came when Gerald McCoy and to a lesser extent Jermaine Gresham.  HS football is big, but in terms of putting players in the pros Oklahoma doesn't really put a ton in the NFL.

I was unaware.

But Jermaine Gresham was a damn stud.  Big 12 had some good TEs when I was legit in college.  J-Mike, Gresham, every "TE" that Mizzou ran out there.  And with all the passing done in that conference, it is a wonder that more stud WRs don't come out of there.  I mean the best one from the last 35 years was Justin Gage... ;)

Great, this forum will never get over their Damarious Randall obsession!

I'll get over it once Cole Madison has his first all-pro season and Deshone Kizer either gets traded for a second round pick or helps the Packers win the Super Bowl.
