So why hasn’t any team taken advantage of it? Just imagine the haul the Eagles could have gotten for Wentz. And they had ZERO excuse. They’d just won the Super Bowl with a backup. You still think like a fan with no skin in the game, you would've signed Wentz if you were the GM of the Eagles, he would've won MVP as a 2nd year player had he not blown out his knee. So the Eagles trade Wentz to Cleveland in a package for the #1 pick after they win the Super Bowl. If they decide to go with Baker Mayfield, Josh Rosen or Sam Darnold with that pick, now Howie Roseman is fired, and with a move as drastic as trading a 24 year old MVP candidate he's likely not going to ever be given a chance as a GM again. You sign your star players, you build the best team you can, and you keep collecting paychecks. You don't take massive, potentially career altering moves. This isn't your Madden franchise mode. We didn't have a crazy amount of injuries last year, but so many of the ones we did have were to key players (Z.Smith, Tonyan, Bakh, Jenkins, Alexander). The year before that, we were average or better on the injury front, but going further back in time under McCarthy we had a few years when we were one of the most injured teams in the league. Though we are only just past week three, the injury front is not too bad. It did suck to see Jenkins and Bakhtiari out in week one (and during the game, Runyan too), but that is on the way to being remedied now.

I’m not arguing whether or not it will be done, I’m arguing whether or not it should be. It should be. I’ve acknowledged this point of yours, which is a valid point. No GM will have the balls to do it. I have those balls though. I would do it.
Refugee
We might need to set up a whole sub thread on cajones. Who’s got ‘em, whose are the biggest and whose are bigger than the current GM.

Wentz is the "easy" one to fit your narrative. @Packerraymond has a very sound counterpoint. The grey area is Wentz, himself, in that locker room and organization. If he was, uh, as uncoachable as he is made to be now, then yah, he should have been traded. And maybe uncoachable is a poor term to use, but he's far from a leader, if we are to believe what the media has said about him.

Definitely a guy who wasn't going to change his course for anyone. He drove me crazy with some of the waiting on the fence in FA. The moves he did make there were excellent but he never wanted to take too many chances or overpay. Still loved the guy and obviously he made a move most GMs would be fired for even contemplating. One thing is for certain, if you're playing a hand of poker and you look up and see ol' TT sitting across the table, fold that hand up and find a new game. Wentz had a legit meltdown in PHI, and IND wanted nothing to do with him after his one season there. Something tells me Wentz is a guy who wears out his welcome pretty quickly.

I was saying it at the time. For both Wentz and Goff. Mahomes and Allen I’m not even sure I would have the balls to do, but those others? Yeah. Allen/Mahomes before their next contract? Yeah.
