Albert Breer -   The Vikings still have not been given permission to interview Broncos DC Ejiro Evero, who remains the top target for their DC job. Evero spoke with new Broncos coach Sean Payton and, meanwhile, Denver's lining up interviews with DC candidates.

Evero would also be the top target for the Rams DC job, should Raheem Morris get the Colts job—a possibility since Morris interviewed very well in Indy.

Albert Breer -  The Cardinals will conduct a second interview with Bengals DC Lou Anarumo on Friday, with Giants OC Mike Kafka also set to get a second interview (timing TBD on that one), per sources. The interviews, as of now, are set to be done over Zoom. Those are the only 2 known finalists.

Yeah this kinda sucks, not sure why he'd want to go there of all places though.

It is probably a good strategic move.  Denver had an amazing defense last season.  They will probably drop off a little.  If he leaves and that happens, feather in his cap.  Minnesota's defense was not very good.  If he can improve that unit next season, and it can't get a lot worse;  there is another feather in his cap.  He was already a good HC candidate, showing a drop off when he leaves, and an improvement when he arrives, makes his case even better.

Well the Vikings will be upgrading their defensive coaching. Their personnel still sucks miserably though.

I guess the good news is that, if he quickly turns the Vikes defense around, he likely won't be the DC for long as he'll be a hot commodity for HC gigs

Still, it's painful seeing all these better DC's moving around this offseason while LaFleur foolishly sticks with Joe Barry

The Vikings defense is going to be hard pressed to make an improvement. They've got a couple of vets they need to move on from that have been staples. If they keep those guys their play is so much in decline and the defense will suffer even more.

I really think a good DC can make a difference.  I am hoping that EE doesn't wind up there.  I think he's pretty good.

Tom Pelissero -  The Panthers are hiring Ejiro Evero as their defensive coordinator, per sources.

A huge hire for Frank Reich and Carolina, which moved swiftly to lock up one of the NFL’s most talented young coaches after Denver let Evero out of his contract.
