Is that better or worse than any other charitable organization? Banquets and events cost money.  Employees cost money.  Websites cost money.  Office space costs money.

Dov Kleiman -   The foundation has raised millions, but only a quarter of it goes to charity.

People dont generally think that less than .25 of every 1.00 is actually going to the charity they're donating to.

That's the norm? .25 (or approximation) of every dollar actually goes to the charity or cause?

I don't know if that is the norm or not. There are tons of horrible charities, but I think the top charities in the country claim to spend 90 cents of every dollar on the programs that help people directly.  They are rated by outfits like Charity Navigator & charity watch, so there is some accountability out there.

For most athlete charities? Yeah. Usually smaller amounts of donations + larger wages because they employ people they know.

Don't give to athlete charities. If they have an event/signing and you attend and at least get something for your money, fine. If you want to give to a charity, the nationwide/local ones are far more beneficial. The athletes themselves would probably do more good just giving directly, but that doesn't get your name in the paper.

Not true.

Compare Lebron's to Wilson's. It's night and day.

LeBron's charity claims pretty much 0 operating costs, so he back channels his payments to employees through other avenues. LeBron's a billionaire, he's done a lot for Akron, if you live in Akron, probably not a terrible cause for you to contribute to. Most often, if you have $100 to give, you're not better off donating to athlete charities, are you claiming that's incorrect?
