Since we haven't had any points to really get behind the team besides a year or two, it needs to be several seasons to build up a fan base for a sport that doesn't have the Minnesota draw like hockey just naturally does. If this current iteration of the team, or at least its core, can be kept together for 5 years, I think the wolves will earn some die hards that will keep showing up through the next drought. They are doing things right now. Great time to be a Minnesota Sports fan.
Klomp
The makeup of the Wolves reminds me a lot of how the Vikings were built
The Gnat
Agreed with this core, they can build up a true die-hard fan base. And @Klomp - I agree, reminds me of how the Vikings were built and how the Twins have been built as well.
RJWSkol24
Why have the Wolves been so bad against the Eastern Conference? It boggles the mind.

Well, they did completely destroy the Cavs a few weeks ago. But it is kind of odd. Maybe they put less pressure on themselves because it doesn't matter as much in terms of standings (or if they think something like that)? RJWSkol24
The Cavs game stands as an outlier against Eastern Conference opponents. A great season thus far overall. Just kind of odd to see how they have slumped outside of the West.
Klomp
Wolves vs. East 4-5 at home 2-6 on road

The Gnat
MLS Superdraft is going on. MNUFC traded down from 5 to 15 and picked up money and a player to be named later. Then they traded money for pick 7 and got a forward Mason Toyes from Indiana who is 6'3" and 190+ lbs.
The Gnat
Pick 15 for the MNUCF selecting Wyatt Omsberg from Dartmouth. Defender. 6'4" center defender.
The Gnat
Player to be named later has been named. It's a goalie Matt Lampson.
RJWSkol24
The Gopher hockey team picked up a win last night, 5-4 over Michigan State. Team played fairly well, though goaltending was atrocious and the Spartans are not a good team. Anybody here follow Pride On Ice, or college hockey in general? The Gnat
Growing up I was a UND fan. So I do pay some attention to college hockey, now that the Gophers don't play UND every year, I pay less attention to it, but I do keep track some.

The breakup of the WCHA was really unfortunate, though well in the rear-view mirror now. Happy to see the UND/UMN rivalry is at least back on the annual agenda, for now. The Gnat
And another MNUFC trade: Moving back into round 1 last pick and selecting Defender from Duke Carter Manley. They sent some money away.
