I like the fact that he's offering scholarships to specialists out of the gate. But in my mind, all that matters to me is whether he's the next Chip Lohmiller or Dan Nystrom (or even Emmitt Carpenter)....and not another nobody like Jason Giannini or Adam Bailey. They should shrink the league into 5-10 teams. The elite players have no desire to play in Minnesota, Milwaukee, Oklahoma City, or places like Indiana. It's a lost cause every year trying to be a Timberwolves fan.
SemperFeist
Basketball should just get rid of teams all together. Market the game like they do with boxing. People really only go to watch the superstars, so, just cut out the middle man and have the superstars play each other. One on one. Truly find out who’s the best. They've always had that issue, I'm not sure it can necessarily be "fixed", per se, but I do think they need to do more to create the similar parity that the NFL has. MLB has the same issue. I don't necessarily know what the fix is in the NBA, except to find a way to make it more attractive to stay in the smaller markets or to squash the ability to create superstar teams. It's a far easier solution in MLB, even though it will never happen...and that's to institute a salary cap. There never should be a team that should be able to pay it's way out of bad decisions or to just buy any free agent it wants. Both leagues have the tremendous problem of knowing that, at the minimum, half the teams have zero shot going into any given season. Therefore, there's absolutely no incentive for any fan of those teams to bother even getting all that involved. It's partially the reason why I haven't really followed either league all that closely and don't get all that attached to either team. For 20+ years, both the Twins and the Wolves have basically been eliminated from the championship contention in Game 1. And even in those years that the Twins made the playoffs, they weren't really serious competitors in the playoffs, because they didn't have the players to compete with the big markets. They were just a nice story...a sort of "happy to be there" kind of team. Edited June 19, 2018 by disaacs

That's not the same situation as Lebron or KD.

The Gnat
Twins with a couple of very nice wins the last couple of days against a good Boston team. It's less the amount of offense the Twins have put up, more hte fact that they've shut down a very good line-up. I hope they get the sweep today, but definitely not holding my breath on that one. Though, Gibson has been solid for the Twins.
vike daddy
Wide receiver Eric Decker became a free agent in March and has yet to find a team for the 2018 season, but it sounds like he knows where he’d like to spend the upcoming season. Decker made an appearance on Sirius XM NFL Radio Wednesday and said that he thinks the Patriots would be a “good fit.” Decker noted that he began his career with the Broncos when Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels was the head coach in Denver and that he spoke to New England last year before signing with the Titans. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/06/20/eric-decker-thinks-hed-be-a-good-fit-in-new-england/
swede700
Quote Kentucky coach John Calipari has added another one-and-done star to his recruiting class, except this one will be a senior when he plays his first game for the Wildcats. Stanford graduate transfer Reid Travis made his move to Lexington official on Wednesday, bolstering a squad that already had high expectations heading into the 2018-2019 season. http://www.sportingnews.com/ncaa-basketball/news/kentucky-basketball-reid-travis-stanford-grad-transfer-john-calipari/1x71le3y4lhoi11lot3lsl6fgg The same guy that went to De La Salle HS and actually...for a brief milli-second, considered going to the Gophers.
