Wolves showing how important it is for them to have Taj Gibson and Robert Covington healthy, I realize that Sacramento was on the back half of a back to back, but that was utter destruction by the Wolves.

Also, playing at home helps a lot, it seems

There's already been talk that Clark could leapfrog both Annexstad and Morgan...that tells you about his potential.  I'll be interested to see how good these defensive players are going to be, because they certainly are going to need them if they want to compete in the West.

Weird to see the Gophers recruiting well, though they had recruited well with Kill one year I want to say?

Kill did okay, but I'd think he, more often than not, underrecruited, only went after guys who were mainly recruited by non-BCS schools.  Fleck just ain't scared.  He goes after anyone he feels that are the right fit for his program, especially personality-wise.  If he can prove to coach (as well as he did over the last 3 games) and develop players as well as Kill did...to go along with the recruiting, we may see the Gophers reach heights we've never seen.  They may not ever be National Championship contenders, but it'd be nice to see them compete to go to the Big Ten Championship on occasion, at the very least.

Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald‘s 15th NFL season is coming to an end and players who have been around that long usually face questions about whether their careers are coming to an end as well. Fitzgerald is no stranger to those questions and he’s typically reserved any concrete answers about his plans until after the Cardinals are done playing. That remains the case this season.

Fitzgerald told Bob McManaman of the Arizona Republic that he has “no clue” if Sunday’s game against the Rams is going to be his final home game, but he does know that he won’t be treating it differently than the other 232 games he’s played.

Fitzgerald: “It may. It may not. NFL careers end every Sunday. I’m just blessed to be able to play the game I love. No different than any other game. Honed in and ready to play as I have the hundreds of other times I have done it.”

Championship!

Fleck had an interesting comment on BTN, essentially saying he wants to lock down the special teams because he doesn't want to take up his time worrying about specialists. I'll try to go find that later, but I had to chuckle a bit knowing what the Vikings have gone through.

Certainly, Minnesota couldn't have asked for a better start to the coach Lindsay Whalen era. The Gophers beat Coppin State 84-52 on Dec. 12, and they have time off for finals before they finish their nonconference schedule against Rhode Island on Saturday.

Then on Dec. 28, Big Ten play starts for the Gophers at Williams Arena. And one can assume the old Barn will be rocking during conference games especially, as the rivalries that Whalen participated in as a Minnesota player will be revisited by her as coach.

Whalen has been most pleased with how her players are listening and responding. The WNBA legend, who won four league titles with the Minnesota Lynx, was accepted immediately by the Gophers players, of course. But that didn't necessarily mean she could count on how quickly they would implement what she wanted.

"I think that's been a big strength of our team: Every time we've had something that we identified we wanted to work on, we've done that," Whalen said. "We've worked on it in practice, and it's carried over into the games, which I feel like is a sign of a really good team."

I laughed because I think it’s funny that they actually rank long snappers.
