Obviously, this will be easy for @CWood21 and @packerjmf, but the rest of you should be seriously screaming for the Packers to win tonight because you certainly aren't being very strategic with your selections.

I'll leave my "strategic" picks for weeks 16 and 17 if I need to go that route.

I also think the Browns beat the Lions in week 10, but not enough to pick them.

Every time I've done this in the past, being strategic is why I go out.

As you wish. As it stands now, you're in the middle of the pack, so I guess it won't hurt right now.

Well, Jack came back to town, so ...

COMPETITOR TEAM PCT	W	L	T	GB
Kiei7 Dallas 0.516	33	31	0	0.0
CWood21 Green Bay	0.610	36	23	0	-5.5
jonnguy2015 San Francisco	0.610	36	23	0	-5.5
FakePlasticTrees	Carolina	0.617	37	23	0	-6.0
kyle21121 LA Chargers	0.617	37	23	0	-6.0
J-ALL-DAY San Francisco	0.627	37	22	0	-6.5
THE DUKE Cincinnati	0.633	38	22	0	-7.0
packerjmf Green Bay	0.639	39	22	0	-7.5
MisterB1ll Dallas 0.650	39	21	0	-8.0
Nbanflguy Minnesota	0.656	40	21	0	-8.5
ConnPatFan New England	0.656	40	21	0	-8.5
footbull3196 Minnesota	0.678	40	19	0	-9.5

So, as it stands right now, it's @Kiei7 and then everyone else. @CWood21 is closer to @footbull3196 than Kiei.

Will this be updated as the tiebreaker takes on more prominence? Thanks in advance.

  1. Yes, I'll be releasing the updated rules either tonight after MNF is over or tomorrow.
  2. You say that like the tiebreaker isn't looming large right now with only nine competitors left.

I'll admit, I have no idea what those standings are or how they work lol.

Those are the tiebreaker standings. It's an aggregate of the wins and losses of all of the teams you have selected so far. If you pick all super favorites (Philly, New England, Pittsburgh, etc.), you're going to drop down that list. Lowest aggregate record wins the first tiebreaker. So heading into last week, you were in the middle of the pack.

I go strategic from the beginning every year. This is the first year it has worked out. I'm eventually going to take a chance on NYG so I can pick Philly without it hurting me

There's strategic and then there's playing with fire.

To this point the tiebreaker really has not enter my thinking when making picks. It strikes me that it may be time to find a better balance between both the likelihood of winning and the record of the team picked. However, it does create a larger "zone of danger".  The yin and yang of it all!
