In 97, we were forced to change our jerseys in the middle of preseason because the tv numbers were illegible on screen and for the broadcasters. High contrast border colors are almost always necessary for this and I think in game action, there’s going to be a blurring issue with how the human brain processes characters. The numbers are not finished yet, but my understanding is that extends solely to typeface. It’s possible a border gets added though, I suppose. Like they couldn't afford to go to the "premium package" with a 3rd colour on the uniforms. The numbers are one thing that i actually really like with our outgoing uniforms.
