From a Lions perspective, your title is wholly accurate.

We aren't taking a RB in the 1st. I like Michel but it's not going to happen. We have Quin and Diggs at safety. No need to take someone there in the 2nd. I like Phillips in the 3rd but otherwise this is a bust.

Solid first round pick, but I'd be very tempted by Lamar Jackson there.

Decent second round pick, additional CB depth is needed, but I could see waiting on that position. Connor Williams would be very tempting there for the Vikings if they were to go QB in round one.

Third round pick is good. DT and DE are definitely high needs.

"aren't" or you don't want them to?

Diggs is listed as a CB. Is that not true? Quin just turned 32. Safety is gonna be a need soon.

What do you think are some needs and who would you draft in this scenario?

I contemplated Jackson but I think Zim Zam goes into the draft with a QB. But you never know.

I think we'll have a QB, probably Keenum back on a short deal, two or three years with an out basically out of one year. But I can see Spielman looking at Jackson and going thinking he's the QBOTF and draft him so he can have some time to learn.

I would say a strong "aren't" because both Quinn (GM) and Patricia (HCTB) come from the Patriots. The Patriots rarely ever draft a RB at all and only once in the first in BB's entire tenure. If Saquon Barkley was there at 20 or in the teen's... maybe it's a different story. The Pats have only drafted 3 RB's since 2010 and two of them were in the same draft. Philosophically they tend to stick to LB, DL, OL, DB in the earlier rounds. Assuming that we mix in more 3-4, we have major holes at DL (both DE and DT) and LB. Ansah is a FA and I'd suspect he'll be brought back on the Franchise Tag. He still needs someone else to play opposite of him.

Diggs is now playing as our SS. He played quite well in that role so I would expect him to stick there. We also have Miles Killebrew that should see some more development under Patricia. Quin just had a Pro Bowl type season. Likely don't need to look at replacing him until next year if not in 2020.

Round 1

We do need help opposite of Darius Slay so you could make a case for Ward or Davis in that spot. Landry or Hubbard are also really good picks here. I personally really like Rashaan Evans and would have zero complaints if he wound up in Detroit. He's an Alpha Dog, he'd be the leader on that defense and can play inside or out.

Round 2

Nettle and Nnandi are likely my targets in this area. We need more help on the DL. I think we bright Ngata back but we need another guy to play NT. We also need help at LG. Braden Smith could be taken here as well

Round 3

I like Phillips here in your original draft. You could still double dip, especially if you think he could play 3-4 DE. I'd probably side with D. Armstrong (Edge) or McFadden (CB).

I don't think that we look at RB until round 4 OR maybe in the third if we have acquired some extra picks.

For the Bengals in the first....if you are going to give us a defensive back (which I am fine with) instead of o-line, give us your next pick.

Safety is a much bigger need and James is a great player.. instant impact

But the Bengals would probably take McGlinchy in this scenario...

I don't mind the Browns draft really. I am not a Chubb fan though and would rather take Fitzpatrick, whom I also don't really love. I think both are solid, but out of the blue chip range.

And your mock draft has two potential top 10 picks at  OT going at the top of round 3.

I appreciate you taking the time to fill out a full 3 round mock draft however as a raider fan i do have some concerns:

1) nowhere in the 3 rounds did you address our biggest priority on D which is LB---you have us passing on Roquon, Malik Jefferson and Jewell in rounds 1,2,3 respectively - I assume you have us resigning Bowman in FA, but he is 30 years old and is a shell of what he was. MLB is by far the biggest need. I agree DL is an issue as well but one that is needed secondarily to LB

2) Vita Vea is a much better prospect than Daron Payne, i know he had a good CFB Playoffs but Vea is considerably more dominant

3) Like the idea of drafting the heir apparent at OT but would prefer Rankin who you have going 5 picks or so later, i believe he has a higher ceiling and could eventually play LT. Not sure many OT prospects outside of the top.

Dont mind the 2nd round pick as CB could be a big need for us post cuts/FA

Thanks again for posting

I love Jaire Alexander and if it wasn't for having 4 Corners under contract who will and are playing well, and most likely resigning Robinson I would love this pick, but Corner is not a need at all for PHI

LB is #1, MLB is a constant rotation and Hicks is always hurt. Kendricks is playing on a decent contract but playing at a high level IMO. Bradham is a FA who may or may not resign as th eagles can only offer so much.

Im not understanding the 1st round pick at all as our Safety's are really good both of them and neither are free agents this year.  Unless you think someone is going to come in and give us a 1st or 2nd round pick for Rico Allen who is the secondary leader of our defense.

I would easily go with this in the 1st 3 rounds with options at each pick to make it better.

1st - Maurice Hurst - DT  or Isaiah Wynn - OG/OT

2nd - Brian O-Niell - OG/OT or Harrison Phillips - DT or  Hayden Hurst - TE

3rd - Whichever of those 3 positions you didn't take of DT, OG, and TE in the 1st 2 rounds i go that here with the BPA.
