I can't remember a time when we had this many, non-injury related, roster moves after the season has already begun.  Robinson, Bailey, Thunderbucket...

I can't remember a time when (in the case of Bailey and Thunderbucket) that quality depth players and upgrades were made available in free agency after the season has begun.

The Vikings head coach said Wednesday that he is grateful that the front office consistently looks for talent that will give his team the best chance to win.

“I texted them the other night and told all those guys, ‘Thank you’ for trying to get some more players in here,” Zimmer said. “No. 1, they’ve always done a great job. Rick always says, ‘I want to get the players in here that you want to get.’ We have a great working relationship.

Now that the dust has (mostly) settled on those moves, the Vikings find their financial position to be especially snug. According to sources with access to NFLPA salary data, the Vikings have about $150,000 left in salary cap space after the release of tackle David Parry, who was cut to make room for Tom Johnson.

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said this week that an official told safety Andrew Sendejo that he “did everything right” on a hit on Packers wide receiver Davante Adams that earned a flag for unnecessary roughness, but that didn’t stop the league from fining Sendejo this week.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that Sendejo has been fined $53,482 for the hit. The fine is large because Sendejo is considered a repeat offender by the league. He was suspended one game last year for a hit to the head of then-Ravens wide receiver Mike Wallace.

Forbes recently put out its valuation of 32 NFL teams, and the Vikings are listed as the 19th most-valuable franchise, worth $2.4 billion.

Nick Halter of the Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal wrote about Minnesota’s placement and compared it to last year. He wrote:

The Vikings were also valued at $2.4 billion on last year’s list, but [they] made significant value jumps in between the approval and opening of U.S. Bank Stadium. The team peaked at 17th on the list in 2016 but lost a couple spots since then due to jumps by the Oakland Raiders, who are moving to Las Vegas, and the Rams, who moved from St. Louis to Los Angeles.

Halter pointed out that the Vikings NFC North rivals Chicago, Green Bay and Detroit were ranked 7th, 12th and 31st by Forbes, respectively.
