I'm guessing it'll be a lot worse if they don't draft a lineman. The best player in the draft could fall and if we take him it'll be "who's going to block for the 86 million dollar QB?"

Either way I'm sure a lot of people will be upset though

Imagine how upset everyone would be if this were to happen...

PICK 18MIN.png Kaleb McGary - OT

School: Washington | Year: Senior (RS)
Previous: Not selected in Round 1

The Vikings started to address the offensive line in free agency, adding Josh Kline, but they're not done. Look for this pick to be a center, guard or tackle. In McGary, they get a big, hulking body who'll be able to contribute right away. Viewed as a better run blocker than pass protector, he still has great room to improve.

leaving Bradbury, Risner and Lindstrom on the board and taking this guy.  Apparently, someone has been smoking too much of the good stuff.

That dude's mock was just ridiculous. Quinnen fell to 8, Jaylon Ferguson went in the 1st, McGary over the names you listed, it seemed like he was playing darts with names more than anything

It was honestly *fairly plausible until our pick. Go figure.

Outside of the fact that if the Vikings don't Bradbury at 18 (if he's there), it's virtually guaranteed that Tennessee does.  Tennessee loves offensive linemen...and they just so happen to need a quality C...and are rumored to love Bradbury.  There's not a chance in <bleep> that they're drafting Fant.  They can function at TE with Delanie Walker and Jonnu Smith...not to mention our very own MyCole Pruitt.

They did sign Saffold (not a C, I know) and have Vrabel as HC. It wouldn't surprise me if they looked elsewhere but who knows.

Signing a veteran minimum contract likely means that the Vikings told Marcus that they were not going to give him a contract at all; he likely would have stayed with MN if he had that choice. Marcus grew up in MN, went to college in MN, played his entire career in MN, and has family in MN. It is hard to imagine him choosing to leave for no difference in pay.

With the veteran minimum benefit, Mr Sherels would have cost the Vikings very little against the cap during the offseason.

To be fair, he hasn’t really played much.

To be fair, he hasn't played all that well against even the scrubs in the 4th preseason games.  He had 1 decent game against the Chargers in 2017, but has been mediocre otherwise.
