Our LB's are lacking in depth. Payne is not a run stuffer. Dude is a pure gap pentrator and would be wasted in in run support. Edmunds can play multiple positions including 3rd down pass rush specialist on the end. He is the superior value considering how our defense is stacked up right now.

At 6'5" 250 I think Edmunds could play opposite Lawrence at DE, Sam, Mike, Will, and be an all around stud defender.

The Cowboys need to draft Edmunds if he's available @ 19 due to the lack of quality linebackers probably left in the stable if Hitchens and Wilber hit free agency and to get a stud player like Edmunds count your blessings.

I voted for Payne, but I’d try to trade back into the 1st round for Edmunds.

Edmunds will be long gone before 19.  He will test well at the combine.  Freakish athlete who can rush the passer?  No he won't get over drafted.  We could end up having a good choice of DT's fall to us though.

Damn I voted for Payne, then read the posts... I am leaning back with Edmonds. But would be very happy with either.

We only use gap penetrators on the DL under Rod, though. If they view him as a legit playmaking nose guard, they might actually take him.

I don't see any reason to believe that their philosophical aversion to drafting DTs early has changed, though, so I'll go Edmunds.

Give me Edmunds all day. I'd argue LB is by far our biggest need.

-No idea if Hitchens is returning.

-Sean Lee is old and he won't be here forever.

-Jaylon Smith isn't a starter in this league.

 

Edmunds, Lee, and someone stepping up (if Hitchens leaves) would leave me very happy.

What is interesting is that last time Payne had 9 votes. I expected he would get some defectors. It seems universally if people didn't get their first choice Edmunds was their fall back.
