TheKillerNacho
Interesting he wanted to make a lateral move like this. I guess he will be calling plays with the Titans... be interesting to see how this turns out.
TheKillerNacho
As for the Rams, I suppose they're going to promote from within to fill the vacancy. McVay will retain playcalling duties obviously. Looking at their offensive coaches, Aaron Kromer or Jedd Fisch make the most sense, as they've been coordinators in the past. 49erurtaza
I like this hire he worked with Kyle Shanahan in Atlanta mix in the year with McVay. Wouldn't surprise me if the offense is rolling and he gets hired as a head coach in a year.
sdrawkcab321
Should be interesting. I thought mcvay was calling the plays for the rams. What did lafleur do?
Rolni
McVay's offensive staff gets picked apart pretty fast. I know it is his system and he is the main guy, but still it is not ideal for the Rams and for Goff... With that said one can understand both Greg Olson and Matt LaFleur. Olson gets to work with his main mentor and Matt can step out from McVay's shadow and can call his own plays. It will be interesting with this LaFleur hire, if he has huge success in his first year...he might be picked for a HC gig while Vrabel and Mariota will have to find a new guy... Other then that this seems like a much better hire then the DC...

As for the hire it's interesting since LaFleur never called plays with us. He's getting a promotion to play caller with little experience doing so. Best of luck on this roll of the dice, hope it works out because he was good working with Jared who has now lost his OC and QB coach in this off season. GOGRIESE
Aaron Kromer somehow still keeps getting jobs and promotions
DutchFalcon
Really startingto wish we'd have kept him instead of hiring Sark... This Titan team is starting to look good on the coaching side.
-Hope-
couldn't be happier with this. he was 1a and 1b with DeFilippo in my book.

So... there isn't going to be anyone with the title "offensive coordinator"? Weird.

That’s still McVays title, it really was his last year as well. LaFleur was OC in name only.
TwoToneBlue
Love this hire. Exactly the type of switch we needed to make for Marcus.

He's always been a good OL coach, it was his playcalling that you can criticize if you're looking to nitpick and the Rams don't have to worry about that, similar to how the Saints never had to worry about it when he was with them even had he been promoted because Payton was always going to call the plays.
