Titans hire Matt LaFleur as OC

McVay's offensive staff gets picked apart pretty fast. I know it is his system and he is the main guy, but still it is not ideal for the Rams and for Goff...

With that said one can understand both Greg Olson and Matt LaFleur.

Olson gets to work with his main mentor and Matt can step out from McVay's shadow and can call his own plays.

It will be interesting with this LaFleur hire, if he has huge success in his first year...he might be picked for a HC gig while Vrabel and Mariota will have to find a new guy...

Other then that this seems like a much better hire then the DC...

As for the Rams, I suppose they're going to promote from within to fill the vacancy. McVay will retain playcalling duties obviously. Looking at their offensive coaches, Aaron Kromer or Jedd Fisch make the most sense, as they've been coordinators in the past.

As for the hire it's interesting since LaFleur never called plays with us. He's getting a promotion to play caller with little experience doing so. Best of luck on this roll of the dice, hope it works out because he was good working with Jared who has now lost his OC and QB coach in this off season.

So... there isn't going to be anyone with the title "offensive coordinator"?

Weird.

Aaron Kromer somehow still keeps getting jobs and promotions

Our OL - and yours the seasons you guys had him before injuries sapped it - made a massive turnaround under Kromer.  He's always been a good OL coach, it was his playcalling that you can criticize if you're looking to nitpick and the Rams don't have to worry about that, similar to how the Saints never had to worry about it when he was with them even had he been promoted because Payton was always going to call the plays.
