I'm going to keep this simple from now on. Just the current roster along with injured reserve, physically unable to perform, suspended, etc. I'll still keep the first post updated so no need to search through a bunch of posts for a new version.

For what it's worth there are 91 players on there right now. Not sure who was cut to add Olsen. Urschel retiring opened up a spot for Rainey but the roster was full after that.

Not a specific transaction update, but I would like to point out that all of these injuries are leaving the Ravens with no cap space for the season. Once the Rule of 51 ends and all the players on the team (roster, practice squad, IR, etc.) count towards the cap Baltimore is going to be in a bad spot. A really bad spot. We should expect a contract restructure or two just so they have even more room just for the injuries that will happen throughout the season.

So with that in mind I wouldn't expect any signing from here on out worth more than the minimum. There are just too many hoops to jump through to make space for someone who isn't talented enough to warrant it. Which applies to everybody left on the market at this point. What sucks is that there will be some decent players released after the final (well, only now) cutdown or maybe even a bit earlier. Yet the Ravens will have to make a decision or two that's not good for the future just to be able to sign them if they want to.

Yea, it's going to hurt our final roster construction too. They will all count against the initial 53 roster. Not like we can cut/waive Dixon, Siragusa, Young, Canady at the least, and expose them to other teams to sign, but those are spots that we will have to fill back after we can officially IR them.

Thanks Joe Flacco!

But seriously, having the highest amount of dead money against the cap is really hurting us this year. According to Over The Cap, the Ravens have the 4th least "active cap spending" (i.e. money allocated to players on the roster), but we have the 3rd least cap space.  Eugene Monroe is the 9th highest cap hit for 2017!

This makes sense. Gillmore is exposed to waivers, but he's out for the year and on the last year of his contract so the risk of another team picking him up is minimal. Pretty sure the Ravens aren't cutting him outright either since the injury protection benefit would come into play.

So now we wait for a potential injury settlement, but one might not come since Gillmore is projected to be out the whole year. Either way this could be a sad end for Crockett's tenure with the Ravens. He looked really good when healthy... at least in that really short period that was actually true.
