2018 Cap Casualty FA Market

Recommended Posts

The real place where the Browns are likely to make their mark in talent acquisition is on signing cap casualty cast offs that can still make a positive impact.

With signs pointing toward Cousins signing with the Broncos, Denver beat writers are speculating that in order to create sufficient cap space the Broncos will have to consider casting off CJ Anderson, Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, and/or Chris Harris Jr.

This got me thinking that other Teams' potential cap casualties would be interesting to look in to.

If anyone hears about a team's potential move, please add it to this thread/list.

For now, here's a list of potential Cap Casualties by position (https://www.silverandblackpride.com/2018/1/29/16948220/potential-2018-nfl-cap-casualties-cuts-by-position-could-be-strong-crop-of-wide-receivers)

jets have 70 million in cap don't see why they get rid of mo w.

the players I would want on that list are few.

1. Tyran matheau to play FS give the man 55 million.

2. D thomas fom the broncos if our QB situation becomes good.

3. Tyrod

4. Tamba Hali on a high incentives contract. nickel situation pass rusher.

Derrick Johnson, Tamba Hali, and Jonathan Stewart look to be prime targets. Players with very little left that could want to collect one last good paycheck from Cleveland, ala Willie McGinest. Add Frank Gore to the list.

Don’t forget Khalil

Any one of Charles Johnson, Tamba Hali or Michael Bennett to play the role of still productive mentor to Myles Garrett would be my dream.

Obviously Robert Quinn would be amazing but I highly doubt he will be in play.

Demaryius will be restructured and Sanders will be cut or traded for a late round pick. I would toss a 5th at Sanders all day and try to target one of the DEs above.

I agree on Tyrod as a stop-gap, Tyran as our starting FS, Maybe Mark Barron - depending on Gregs referral, and Tamba Hali on small contract to help teach our young DEs, especially Ogbah. Hali was my comp for Ogbah coming outta the draft.

Apparently after he got paid he completely lost motivation and half assed it. He and Sheldon Richardson were the ones missing meetings

This is good.

Yeah, Id specifically target these 3 FAs: Tre Boston FS 26 years old, Kyle Fuller CB 26 years old, and Jarvis Landry WR 25 years old. I want young vets we can get a solid 5 years from. Id also consider, depending on his demands, Tyrod Taylor as our stop-gap.

tots down for only second contract players.

If Cam Wake if he gets released or Tamba Hali would be 3-4th contract guys that I would pay a moderate amount over 2 years to come and play ball.
