Mind Character
The real place where the Browns are likely to make their mark in talent acquisition is on signing cap casualty cast offs that can still make a positive impact. With signs pointing toward Cousins signing with the Broncos, Denver beat writers are speculating that in order to create sufficient cap space the Broncos will have to consider casting off CJ Anderson, Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, and/or Chris Harris Jr. This got me thinking that other Teams' potential cap casualties would be interesting to look in to. If anyone hears about a team's potential move, please add it to this thread/list. For now, here's a list of potential Cap Casualties by position (https://www.silverandblackpride.com/2018/1/29/16948220/potential-2018-nfl-cap-casualties-cuts-by-position-could-be-strong-crop-of-wide-receivers) ------------------------------------------------- Names on the list that might be interesting for us: Mark Barron FS/SS/LB, Tamba Hali DE, Aquib Talib CB, CJ Anderson RB, RT Ja'wuan James, WR Demaryius Thomas, TE Julius Thomas Defense: Defensive Interior DT Brandon Mebane, Chargers DT Mo Wilkerson, Jets Edge Defenders DE Brooks Reed, Falcons DE Charles Johnson, Panthers DE Ethan Westbrooks, Rams DE Michael Bennett, Seahawks DE Tamba Hali, Chiefs DE Vinny Curry, Eagles DE Robert Quinn, Rams OLB Eli Harold, 49ers OLB Pernell McPhee, Bears OLB Willie Young, Bears Linebackers ILB Jerrell Freeman, Bears ILB Mark Barron, Rams LB Clay Matthews, Packers LB Derrick Johnson, Chiefs LB Lawrence Timmons, Dolphins LB Mychal Kendricks, Eagles Safeties FS JJ Wilcox, Steelers FS Robert Golden, Steelers SS Mike Mitchell, Steelers SS Quintin Demps, Bears Cornerbacks CB Aqib Talib, Broncos CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Giants CB Darrelle Revis, Chiefs CB Jeremy Lane, Seahawks CB Kayvon Webster, Rams CB Marcus Cooper, Bears CB Adam-Pacman Jones, Bengals CB Tyrann Mathieu, Cardinals CB William Gay, Steelers CB Sean Smith, Raiders CB David Amerson, Raiders --------------- Offense: Quarterbacks QB Mike Glennon, Bears QB Tyrod Taylor, Bills QB Trevor Siemian, Broncos Running Backs RB DeMarco Murray, Titans RB Doug Martin, Buccaneers RB Jonathan Stewart, Panthers RB Marshawn Lynch, Raiders RB CJ Anderson, Broncos Wide Receivers WR Aldrick Robinson, 49ers WR, Emmanuel Sanders, Broncos WR Brandon Marshall, Giants WR Demaryius Thomas, Broncos WR Dez Bryant, Cowboys WR Jeremy Maclin, Ravens WR Jordy Nelson, Packers WR Markus Wheaton, Bears WR Michael Crabtree, Raiders WR Randall Cobb, Packers WR Tavon Austin, Rams WR Torrey Smith, Eagles WR Travis Benjamin, Chargers Tight Ends TE Brent Celek, Eagles TE Dion Sims, Bears TE Dwayne Allen, Patriots TE Eric Ebron, Lions TE Julius Thomas, Dolphins TE Martellus Bennett, Patriots Offensive Linemen OT Ja’Wuan James, Dolphins RT Bobby Massie, Bears RT Joe Barksdale, Chargers RT Menelik Watson, Broncos OG Andy Levitre, Falcons OG Ramon Foster, Steelers OG Josh Sitton, Bears OG Laken Tomlinson, 49ers OL Zane Beadles, 49ers C Ryan Kalil, Panthers ------------------------------------------
NateDawg
Derrick Johnson, Tamba Hali, and Jonathan Stewart look to be prime targets. Players with very little left that could want to collect one last good paycheck from Cleveland, ala Willie McGinest. Add Frank Gore to the list. Kiwibrown
jets have 70 million in cap don't see why they get rid of mo w. the players I would want on that list are few. 1. Tyran matheau to play FS give the man 55 million. 2. D thomas fom the broncos if our QB situation becomes good. 3. Tyrod 4. Tamba Hali on a high incentives contract. nickel situation pass rusher. AkronsWitness
Any one of Charles Johnson, Tamba Hali or Michael Bennett to play the role of still productive mentor to Myles Garrett would be my dream. Obviously Robert Quinn would be amazing but I highly doubt he will be in play. Demaryius will be restructured and Sanders will be cut or traded for a late round pick. I would toss a 5th at Sanders all day and try to target one of the DEs above.

I agree on Tyrod as a stop-gap, Tyran as our starting FS, Maybe Mark Barron - depending on Gregs referral, and Tamba Hali on small contract to help teach our young DEs, especially Ogbah. Hali was my comp for Ogbah coming outta the draft.

Yeah, Id specifically target these 3 FAs: Tre Boston FS 26 years old, Kyle Fuller CB 26 years old, and Jarvis Landry WR 25 years old. I want young vets we can get a solid 5 years from. Id also consider, depending on his demands, Tyrod Taylor as our stop-gap.

If Cam Wake if he gets released or Tamba Hali would be 3-4th contract guys that I would pay a moderate amount over 2 years to come and play ball.
