mission27
2014-2016 Patriots have a very good case. Probably better than the 2003-2005 group. 12-4, won division, won Super Bowl 12-4, won division, lost AFCCG on a last second failed 2pt conversion 14-2, won division, won Super Bowl So overall 45-11, including 38-10 in the regular season and 7-1 in the playoffs, with two Super Bowls. TheFinisher
These Dallas Cowboys teams were pretty exceptional. Those defenses are pretty under appreciated because the Triplets and OL get all the love, but they were an elite unit as well... all 3 levels. Haley, Norton Jr, Woodson, etc... they had some dogs. Year Record Result OFF Ranks (Pts/Total) DEF Ranks (Pts/Total) 1995 12-4 Won SB 3/5 3/9 1994 12-4 Lost NFCCG 2/8 3/1 1993 12-4 Won SB 2/4 2/10 1992 13-3 Won SB 2/4 4/

I guess you'd have to take into consideration the circumstances. Era being the biggest one since there didn't used to be salary cap. Also competition level in conference and league at the time. We have yet to have a three peat champion. The NFL is such a small sample size I'm personally not going to have Super Bowls be a dealbreaker for me. Others will differ obviously. Off the top of my head I'm guessing most answers will consistent of: 1999-2001 Rams 1987-1989 49ers 1988-1990 49ers 1992-1994 Cowboys 1977-1979 Steelers 2003-2005 Patriots 1996-1998 Broncos 2003-2005 Colts 1971-1973 Dolphins I feel like I'm forgetting some others choices that should stick out. Hopefully some "seasoned" fans chime in. An oddity of the current era in NE is the paucity of likely future hall of famers. Besides Tom Brady, how many others? The Lombardi era had 12, the Steelers era cited had 9, Miami 6. Certainly SF, Dallas and Buffalo had their share.
x0x
Well 71-73 Dolphins are only team to be in 3 Super Bowls winning 2. Otherwise you go with 92-94 Cowboys, 14-16 Patriots or 88-90 49ers. Of course the 49ers were closest to completing the Threepeat even with Montana getting taken out they had a late fumble losing by a field goal. TVScout
1971-1973 Dolphins because they went to 3 SBs won 2 and had an undefeated season in that run. No other team has come close to that.

Those WERE some great teams. I still have nightmares of watching the Purple People Eaters getting bulldozed again and again by Larry Czonka. Four years seems to be the measure of a dominant team. For example: the 1993 to 1996 Cowboys; the four Buffalo Super Bowl teams; the 2001 to 2004 Patriots. A four year run would consist of arguing only the Cowboys, Bills and Patriots IMHO.

No other team has come close to that. The NFL-AFL merger occurred in 1970. Shula's Colts had come in behind Lombardi's Packers twice then lost to Namath and the Colts. Shula had been schooled by Lombardi and Weeb Ewbank. He was the top coach with 6 future hall of famers.
Bolts223
I think the 96-98 Broncos would probably be my pick, I'm shocked that I haven't seen anyone mention them yet. - 2 SB's in 97 & 98, and probably should've at least made the SB in 96. Other ones I would consider - 49ers from 88-90 (They probably would've 3-peated if not for the Montana injury) Patriots from 2014-2016 Rams from 99-01 Packers from 95-97 Cowboys from 92-94 Seahawks from 2012-2014 Dolphins from 71-73 Colts from 04-
