I haven't watched it yet, but it's probably never a good idea for Cordarrelle to talk to anyone publicly...

Oakland Raiders wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson recently swung through New York City. While he was in town, Deadspin sat him in front of a camera to ask him a bunch of stuff.

Matt Birk and Randy Moss were teammates for seven seasons in Minnesota, and they didn’t always see eye to eye. But with the football world in Minnesota this week and Moss up for induction in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Birk has given Moss a strong endorsement.

Birk: “If I had a vote, I wouldn’t have to think three seconds — I’d put him in. There’s a lot more good than bad with him. I think, maybe contrary to what picture gets painted, he was a good teammate. Not perfect, but none of us are. He was a good guy in the locker room, never walked around like he was bigger or better than anybody on the team. For the most part, I really enjoyed playing with him. I like Randy. He made me look good. He’s a generational player, I have a 9-year-old son, and when he and his buddies are playing football, they’ll say, ‘Oh, you just got Mossed.’ They never saw Randy Moss play, but they know what ‘getting Mossed’ means.”

Alan Page has been a hall of fame defensive tackle for the Vikings, a Minnesota Supreme Court justice and has helped raise more than $14 million for college scholarships. On Thursday, all of that will be recognized. Page will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Fritz Pollard Alliance at the Minneapolis Institute of Art.

Page:  “It’s pretty special, although when they start talking about lifetime achievement, you’re a little worried that next they’ll be talking about obituaries. But other than that, it’s a pretty nice honor. It’s nice seeing an honor that combines your football career and obviously your life. It really in a sense highlights what Diane and I are all about, which is doing what we can to try to make the world a better place.’’

After playing just six games for the Cardinals, Adrian Peterson appears to be done in Arizona. The Cardinals are planning to cut Peterson, Mike Jurecki of 98.7 FM reports. Peterson is heading into the second year of the two-year, $7 million contract he signed with the Saints last year. Peterson lasted just four games in New Orleans before the Saints traded him to the Cardinals.

Peterson, who will turn 33 in March, may not have anything left. He has totaled just 601 yards in the last two seasons, and it remains to be seen whether any team will want him in 2018.
