For the second time this year, the Saints have signed a former member of the Vikings backfield.

It’s safe to say that the addition of fullback Zach Line is going to draw less attention than the Adrian Peterson signing, however. Line’s agent Mike McCartney broke the news of his addition via Twitter on Wednesday.

Maybe they plan to move on from John Kuhn?

Not likely.  I can't even imagine that Line has much of a shot to make the team at this late of a date.  It's probably just to shed some light on blocking for Adrian.

it should be mentioned that former Viking CB Ed Sharockman died earlier this week.

Shrock was one of the original Vikings on the 1961 team and played during our glory days in the 70's. he was very steady and dependable, and played a lot of games as a Viking. he, and 49 others, have the distinction of being voted in to the 50 Greatest Vikings club for our 50th anniversary as a team.

That's too bad.  I really knew nothing about him until the 50 Greatest Vikings award. :(

He gambled (by signing with the Colts) and lost.

Taking home $1.25M and he lost?

Yes, because he still doesn't have a job, and he actually loses $500K for this year by not making the team.  Plus, had he likely waited a few days in the offseason, the Vikings probably would have re-signed him for a similar deal and wouldn't have had any competition.  So yes, he lost.

Do we still get a comp pick for him or was he not one of the guys in that equation?

He won't be in the equation now.

Playing time and postseason honors with the new team is factored into the equation, so no, he's not a factor.
