Is Teddy really falling behind Hill? Haven't been following too closely but that doesn't speak well for Teddy at all. Always thought Hill was mostly a gadget player.

They probably only think that because he's likely lighting it up against 3rd-stringers, just like Sloter.

49ers running back Jerick McKinnon practiced in early August to mark a milestone in his return to action from last summer’s torn ACL, but his presence on the practice field proved to be a short-lived one.

McKinnon went to have a platelet rich plasma injection in his knee after experiencing soreness in his knee following the practice session. Word at the time was that he would miss two weeks of work before getting back on the field. It took a little bit longer than that, but McKinnon made his return to practice on Tuesday. According to multiple reports, McKinnon was wearing a brace on his right knee that he was not wearing in his first appearance on the practice field this month.

Should McKinnon have more trouble with the knee, he’ll likely be a candidate for injured reserve later this week. If not, he’ll try to work his way back into a role alongside Tevin Coleman and Matt Breida in the 49ers backfield.

Cordarrelle Patterson has undeniable big-play talent, but he’s never put it all together to become a consistent offensive weapon. He thinks that may change this year. Patterson, who is in his first year with the Bears after a year with the Patriots, one with the Raiders and four with the Vikings, says Chicago coach Matt Nagy has the perfect offense to get the most out of his skills.

Patterson:  “If you really pay attention to football and see the things that Coach Nagy did in the past — coming to the Bears was a no-brainer.  I just want to come in and showcase my talent, and Coach Nagy, there are a lot of different things he can do on the football field to help players like me out. He tries to get the ball to everyone on the field, not just one person. As a guy coming into a new system, that’s what you want from your head coach. You want a guy that’s going to spread the ball around and get it to everybody.”

On Friday, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that the San Francisco 49ers are expected to place Jerick McKinnon on injured reserve. Rapoport added that McKinnon's surgically repaired knee has had "a bit of a flare up" and may require a procedure to fix the issue. It is not yet known if McKinnon's newest setback will keep the veteran running on the shelf for the duration of the season.
