SteelKing728
This is the 2nd time Bridgewater will lose his job to Sam Darnold. Edited April 5, 2021 by SteelKing728
vikingsrule
Wonder how many chances Teddy will continue to get to show he can start. I’d think this is the end of the line for him outside of getting backup gigs. He can’t seem to catch a break with how quickly teams have moved on but thats just as much on him as well. Obviously, if he was a good fit for Carolina, they wouldn’t have just traded a future second for a first round bust.

Bridgewater is in that group of QBs that he’s good enough to start/be a placeholder for a bad team or a team with a young QB, but he’s not good enough to hang on to long term. So he’s the next version of Ryan Fitzpatrick.

He certainly has a personality that will help stabilize a locker room.
swede700
If Teddy can be a Fitzpatrick/Josh McCown/Steve DeBerg type, that's a good career for him. Next stop, Denver. He can compete with Drew Lock for the starting job there.
SemperFeist
I’m guessing that Bridgewater remains in Carolina for 2021 as Darnold’s backup. Taking on a $20M cap hit to release Bridgewater seems unwise, and I don’t know why anyone would trade for him and take on his contract. It wouldn’t make sense for Chicago to pursue Teddy now with Dalton under contract. Chicago needs a long term solution.

In my mind Dalton has shown that he can make throws that Bridgewater can’t.

Dalton is a more physically gifted thrower than Bridgewater. Edited April 6, 2021 by SemperFeist
