The Falcons got their first win of the season by defeating the Seahawks on Sunday and Cordarrelle Patterson was a big reason why. Now he’s been named the NFC offensive player of the week.

While Patterson wears No. 84 after entering the league as a receiver, he’s now a bona fide running back who continues to make plays. He had 17 carries for 141 yards with a touchdown in Sunday’s victory along with one 12-yard reception.

Cordarrelle Patterson was listed as questionable to play against the Browns after missing a pair of practices with a knee injury, but he returned to practice on Friday and he avoided the inactive list ahead of the game. Patterson is third in the league with 302 rushing yards entering Sunday’s action.

Falcons running back/receiver/returner Cordarrelle Patterson won’t be on the field for the next four weeks. Patterson was placed on injured reserve today, which means he’ll miss at least four weeks.

Although Patterson has played in all four games this season, he has been dealing with a knee injury and he needs a minor procedure.

That sucks. I was really looking forward to seeing how good he’d be over the full season as the unquestioned guy.

The fact that he's survived in the league long enough to play 10 years and still not even be able to run a proper route is amazing in itself. Only he and Xavier Rhodes from that class are still playing in the league...and Rhodes is surviving on the PS.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Monday evening that Denver signed veteran running back Latavius Murray off the New Orleans Saints practice squad.

Supposedly, the Saints also offered him a spot on the 53, but he still chose to go to Denver because of Javonte's injury...which certainly would give him more carries the rest of the season than the Saints could.

Until Kamara is suspended.

Peter King: "I think the hole got deeper for Brett Favre the other day when Katie Strang and Kalyn Kahler of The Athletic reported on some questionable giving patterns by Favre’s Favre 4 Hope foundation. In 2018, they reported, Favre 4 Hope—whose mission was to aid “charitable organizations whose focus is to provide support for disadvantaged children,” plus assistance to breast cancer patients—gave the Southern Miss Athletic Foundation $60,000. That same year, The Athletic reported, no other charity received more than $10,000 from the Favre foundation. Maybe that’s not illegal, but it certainly is unethical."
