We all know about Page and how great he was, but John Gilliam was the first Viking WR I remember being sneaky good.  Ran good routes, had excellent hands and usually drew double coverage.  Unfortunately for him, he played mostly on a running offense, with mediocre armed quarterbacks.  I cannot recall if he ever played with Tarkenton.

Joseph Webb Jr. hasn’t thrown a pass in an NFL game that counted since doing so for the Vikings in the 2012 playoffs. Moments from Webb’s very brief stint in the game’s most valuable position resurfaced last night as he got quite a bit of run at quarterback in Carolina’s 27-17 preseason victory against the Texans.

Webb finished 7-of-14 for 128 yards and two touchdown passes, both to Damiere Byrd. He also added 21 yards rushing on three attempts.
