Giants coach Pat Shurmur has a new quarterback to work with in sixth overall pick Daniel Jones and chances are he’ll be keeping tabs on the development of at least one other rookie quarterback.

Shurmur’s son Kyle did not get drafted this week, but multiple reports indicate that he quickly landed a deal as a free agent. Per those reports, the younger Shurmur is signing with the Chiefs.

Free agent Mike Remmers will visit the Giants again, General Manager Dave Gettleman said, via Ryan Dunleavy of NJ.com.

Gettleman said the team wants to check on Remmers’ rehab. Remmers had back surgery earlier in the offseason, which likely is the reason he remains a free agent.

The Falcons drafted a guard with the 14th overall pick of the draft and they said farewell to a veteran at the same position on Monday. The team announced they have released Brandon Fusco.

I am sure cap numbers prevent it, but if he could pass the physical, I'd bring him into camp.

I'm not sure I'd want Fusco back at this point.  He may be done, at the very least until someone suffers an injury at G in camp.  He's 30 years old and has played 8 years.  He's going to cost too much, even on the veteran minimum, for most teams for what he delivers.

He's basically the equivalent to Josh Kline at this point in terms of financials and likely performance. I'd pass, don't think he adds much.

He’s worse.

And in other news that should also be non-surprising...

A lengthy look at the rise and demise of the AAF from Conor Orr of SI.com includes this intriguing nugget: Primary investor Reggie Fowler now faces federal charges of bank fraud.

As many may know, he was the initial lead investor too of what later became Wilf's ownership group.

You could say Scott Studwell underwent a remarkable transformation at Harrison High School in Evansville, Indiana. From a 5-foot-2, 110-pound freshman wimp to a 6-2, 220-pound senior “Stud.”
