Knockin' on Valhalla's Door

There was a good amount of history that came from that game.

LT pushed himself up in the record books after scoring a touchdown that game, and Antonio Cromartie had at the time the longest return of any kind for a touchdown in NFL History.

Also, its possible that game was much closer if Tarvaris Jackson didn't get injured. Bollinger was a solid fill in for that game, tossing a touchdown pass to rookie Sidney Rice. Poor TJack.

Couple of observations from that video:

  • I forgot how much chemistry Teddy and young Diggs had
  • Harrison Smith is the best Vikings defender I've been able to watch in my lifetime.
  • I'm surprised that none of the Bradford throws vs NO were in there. The high of watching Bradford shred NO, followed by the low of his injury, only to watch one of the best seasons of Vikings football that year was a wild ride.
  • I replayed the Linval rumble a few times xD

What I got from that video is just how difficult it will be to replace Stefon Diggs this season.  The rookie might wind up being a better receiver, but dang, Diggs was great for us!!

seems like a lot of the spectacular catches were from Thielen, with defenders very close to him.

What I got from it was how much I miss watching Teddy throw the pigskin. Just pretty.

Running back Adrian Peterson, who entered the league in 2007 as a first-round pick of the Vikings, told TMZ that he hopes to play through 2023.

“Man, why not four more years?” Peterson said. “Why not? I don’t want to ever be in a position where I look back and say, ‘Man, I should have played two more years, I should of played another year.’ I want to enjoy it. I’m still chasing a championship. You know, I can still play the game at a high level.”

Peterson has 14,216 career rushing yards, 4,139 behind Emmitt Smith for the all-time record. And so Peterson needs to average 1,035 yards per year to catch Emmitt. Don’t bet against him. Peterson rushed for 898 yards in 2019, and 1,042 in 2018. Besides, if he’s close after 2023, maybe he’ll come back for one more season.

That said, he’s now 35 years old. The biggest challenge will be to find a team that will give him a chance to be on the team and to get sufficient opportunities to run the ball in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
