LinderFournette Posted February 4, 2018 Share Posted February 4, 2018 i would go Will Hernandez over Kirk as i think Hernadez is a stud G and we seem to have some interest in him but i honestly i think we will end up Picking Mason Rudolph in round 1. the OL is good in round 2 but i think i would take the richmond qb in round 3 over benkert but honestly i would see us going for a Nickle CB, LB(Preferably a sam to allow jack to play MLB), WR(depth), TE(lewis is old). I wouldn't take James until the 2nd or almost 3rd round. If it's not Quenten Nelson their isn't 1 OG i would take in the 1st round in this draft as it's terrible value to do so. The rest of them are legit 2nd round to 3rd round value and are all very similar talent like 8 to 10 of them and i can even name them if need be As far as the 2nd round goes i wouldn't take a WR in the 1st 4 round much less 2nd round unless we addressed atleast our top 3 or 4 needs in FA which in your draft we address none of them. The Falcons never go a offseason without atleast 1 really good FA and with as many needs as we have we might need 2 of them. As far as the TE in the 3rd i don't mind the position but i don't like Thomas that well and even more so not in round 3. In the 4th or 5th round i might take a look at him but not that early. Also just resigning Poe and not drafting anyone or signing no one else new absolutely destroys our D-line. We have no one else at DT besides Grady and Poe at all. Plus we are now down a SDE in Clayborn and with Upshaw and Rubyn gone as well it's not looking good at all. Here's the draft i would have done with just 1 FA guy i would have picked up as i know other teams need ppl to im not gonna take multiple guys thats just greedy of me lol. Resign - Poe - NT FA - G Andrew Norwell - One of my favorite Free Agents and a guy we have been linked to wanting with Dimitroff saying he prefers Vet Lineman because the young ones take to long to get settled in. Plus he doesn't draft them very well honestly You don't have him in your mock draft at all and it won't hurt the mock or FA one bit if we grab him as one of our 2 biggest needs. Draft 1st - Taven Bryan - DL - great prospect and a guy much more worthy of the 26 pick than Daniels. Plus as said DL is our biggest need at this point with all of our guys leaving. Atleast at OG we have 3 guys who can play there in Wes, Garland, and Harlow. Rather upgrade all 3 of them for sure but atleast they all have starting ability. We have nothing on the DL not even a body lol. 2nd - Brian O-niell - OG/OT - Better Propect than Daniels honestly although i do like Daniels a bit and i would take Daniels in round 2 maybe depending on what other OG's were there but i take O-niell over him for sure. Plus O-niell gives us insurance if Jake Matthews leaves for FA. This is also us letting covering us letting Levitre walk or replacing him when his contract ends next year learning under Norwell, Levitre, and Matthews at multiple positions. 3rd - Mike Geseki - TE - 3rd best TE in the draft and way more productive plus a bigger redzone target than Thomas. I wanted to look at a MLB here or maybe Nnandi another DT but the LB's here just weren't much upgrades to what we already have and we might can still resign 1 of the cheaper FA DT's possibly or go with a Dt in round 4 theirs some talent there still. We lose Okafor who at worst provides us with depth at a position of need and at best is a solid starter for us opposite of Cameron Jordan. We don't add any talent to the defensive front, which is a huge weakness for our defense. We take a QB who doesn't fit the system and who could easily be a bust and probably isnt worth a 1st round pick. Not only that, but even in the 3rd round we don't address any of our needs on defense. We instead opt to take another offensive player, once again ignoring need. We sign a TE in free agency who can't stay on the field. The only positive is that we replaced Kenny Vaccaro with Eric Reid. I think that is an upgrade, but still isn't a need. LB, DT/DE, TE are the major needs for the Saints. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I like addressing qb in the first round but wouldn’t trade up unless it was for Rosen. I wouldn’t want Allen at 6 never mind trading up for him. Would be smarter to tag Ansah, sign a cheap CB, and use that 3rd to help add talent to a LB group that was among the worst in the NFL last year. He just signed his extension. We would have to eat a tremendous amount of his guaranteed money against the cap. You could make an argument about trading him, but cutting him is not going to happen! I really really doubt that the Steelers take a TE in the draft let alone in the 1st round. If you do not think they will cut Vance McDonald then they certainly do not need a TE as they have 3 under contact. Key would be a good pick for them here or LVE. Ronnie Harrison could be another.
