We're lucky baseball players don't hold out to re-negotiate contracts because if they did, there is no way Ramirez would come back next year on the contract he's on now.

Peace!!!

Well I think it’s different for NFL and baseball. If your a top tier NFL you need to get all the money you can as soon as you can because you have no idea when a team will dump you and you are out of contract. MLB, you just need to get that one contract and you are set cause it’s all guaranteed.

Jusr crazy tho, the Indians might have he mvp this season and it only costed them $2.5. Also shows you how good the Indians are at identifying their talent and giving them long contracts until they fully blossom. Just sucks Lindor was too good too fast and knew his worth from the very beginning

What’s arbitration going to cost in the future to keep him? Probably would be cheaper to go that route if he’s demanding something insane.

You have idea what his arbitration will be. It will prolly make him a top15 pair athlete for sure

The Indians need to lock up Francisco Lindor long term bad.

Peace!!!

They need to pony up big time for him

But I guarantee they cant afford him at the price he will certainly be after (and deserves)

He will be headed to a bid market once he is eligible for Free Agency

That's not how arbitration works. He will be VERY heavily paid his 3rd year of arbitration (while still costing less than he would long term), but year one of Arb will be palatable and year two will be high but not super high.

We really need to land a CF before the end of August. The Martin situation is a weird one and probably not going to be counting on him to be back. If he does then you can have him platoon with Melky/Guyer. Also would like to see a pen arm and a Kip replacement added too but given where our cap number sits, we probably wont be adding anyone.

Martin situation sounds like the dude is having one major major issues. Hell the way they were talking about it on the radio, sounded like it could be life threatening.

They will add someone but we have no idea who might be on the market

Yeah that is what I am getting from the sounds of things too. With Martin its bigger than baseball. Hope the guy can make a healthy recovery from whatever it is, baseball is pretty far down the list of things that matter right now in that situation.

Just heard on the radio they reported that he had a life-threatening bacterial infection that was attacking his internal organs. They say he’s doing fine now and should pull through
