Manfred just flat out said he will cancel the season if this becomes a serious problem. That’s a lot of $$$$. Can Manfred just compel that they be traded to the Astros? It'd alleviate a whole bunch of confusion.

bruceb
Random thoughts/questions while listening to tonight's game: 1. Greg Allen is not a major league baseball player. Why is he even on the roster much less playing? 2. Why don't players simply bunt to the other side of the field when shifts put 3 infielders on one side of the diamond? 3. Why are Santana and Reyes still hitting 3 and 4? Why not sit their butts down? Or why not Mercado at 2, Ramirez at 3, Lindor at 4 and anybody else at 5? 4. Who wants to bet that we do not score another run in this game?
candyman93
I think this should be Tito’s last season. However, I can see management giving him a pass.

I mean Tito can't make players hit the baseball and he doesn't control the roster makeup. Fact is that the front office did next to nothing in the off-season to get better. They shed salary by getting rid of Bauer/Kluber and signed a bunch of replaceable platoon outfielders. All while inching closer to trading Lindor because of money. This season was going to be a disaster from the get go because they are prepping for a complete overhaul of the lineup. The quietly got rid of Brantley, Kipnis, Bauer, Kluber and soon to be Lindor. 5 huge pieces and cornerstones to the success they have had since 2014. Not to mention Gomes, Lonnie, Shaw and not retaining guys like Donaldson, Miller or Puig. They had young guys in the order like Yandy Diaz and Gio Urshela but they let them go for other options. Now they are paying for it Edited August 4, 2020 by AkronsWitness

No. This shouldn’t be. Do you remember pre Tito years? You think anyone else could do better with this ownership and their refusal to spend? No way this should be Tito’s last year. Can’t blame him for not being able to currently turn this chicken sh*t into chicken salad.. so management shouldn’t give him a pass, while that same management refuses to make moves that improve the team but chooses to make moves to save the team money... Also to be noted, I read that the Indians have the best record in the American League in the past decade of the 2010s. Better than the Yankees, Redsox, Astros, ect ect. They have been really good, problem is continuing to reload talent with a limited budget every other year. Tito has helped manage the Indians to the best record in the AL for the last decade with the 26th ranked payroll every year. He can be the manager of this team as long as he wants IMO.
